I agree. Our D is among the best , if not the best in the league. No doubt our O is the worst. I’m tired of watching 3 quarters full of 2 and out. Buck hangs on too long ! Renaud must icing his leg right now. We gave Ham. constant field position and opportunity to blow us away. D on the field too long because of O’s ineptitude.Don’t know what Palardy’s problem is ? Something has to change. O has had enough time to adjust. I like Buck, but we can lose just as easy with Goltz learning. 2 pts. wasted.
Great D. If you guys ever get a decent Offensive system ... Watch out.
Yes the Gary Crowton- Buck Pierce experience is not working--
Bottom line- Qbs are not successfull in any PRO Tackle league who are under 200 lbs- Further more when they barely stand 6 feet that is just too small to compete-
Buck cannot play Qb in the CFL- He cannot take the hits and cannot read the blitz and holds on to the ball too long- Buck is not getting any better- He is regressing as a CFL QB--
Buck is not CFL material- Buck is a backup at best but just cannot get the job done- 190 lbs is too skinny and his reads and his intagibles are just not there-
WIth a good QB, peg can be amazing as their Defense is solid
Man that offense is painful to watch and the kickers weren't much better.....19 penalties for 161 yards is just icing on the cake of that steaming pile. Burke needs to put more than a few peeps on notice for their performance, coaches too.
The Bombers defense played well, apart from that Sam Giguere touchdown, the Cats didn't pull off many incredible plays and got to Burris, as did the Bombers special teams on kicks. Stopping Lamar from getting any big runbacks is impressive.
We've all heard the damaged goods, not as good as he's made up to be talk about Buck Pierce, however some of that blame falls on his O.Line and a chunk of that falls on management for not having a respectable backup QB, and shedding the old backups who had experience. The offense takes a lot of blame, but the main problem Winnipeg had this game. Penalties. Way too many penalties, and way to many of them putting Hamilton back into first down position, or giving Hamilton free plays and playing 1st and 5.
The Online did not play well. For a Dline that has struggled its first two games they gave up 6 sacks? And aside from a couple of long runs they held simpson to short gains or losses. It was IMO a pretty poor performance by that group.
Buck...I'm not sure what's going on here. Is it Crowton's offense? Crowton's playcalling? Is it them telling him to stay in the pocket that's causing him to be indecisive and hold on to the ball too long? Is it that they had him give up too many of his reps so Goltz, Hall, and Clement could get more time to learn in camp? Calling for Goltz or Hall to replace him, will that really be any better at this point? Neither really stood out in game action versus backups, are they ready now to play against starters? Or just pick one and say he plays now and let him take his lumps and hope he develops?
Bombers manage to clean up their turnonver issues, now its penalties and special teams with that pass attempt and botched kicks. The team keeps finding ways to shoot itself in the foot.
On the plus side - a lot of inexperience on the Dline and they still played like gangbusters. Kudos to that group for yet another solid game. Bomber O could learn a thing or two. Burris took a beating and yet manage to do enough to move the ball to get some points and run out the clock to kill the game at the end.
This game was incredibly frustrating to watch. That was our worst performance on O this year. Buck was horrible. Play calling was bad, especially in the 3rd quarter. I don't expect miracles, but show me some signs of improvement week to week.
Obviously the "protect Buck; get rid of the ball quicker" scheme isn't working. Can we please go back to what was working pretty well the last 6 games or some last season?
Ugh, and I'm with Hammer and Wolverine, the penalties drove me nuts. It's probably a good thing I watched the game by myself.
Seemed like everything that could go wrong this game did. Save for the Dline, at least they were fun to watch. I don't know what's going to happen when JT Gilmore is healthy. I don't see them sitting Anderson. Guy's all over the field.
.....That performance was putrid on O....Special teams, which were supposed to be greatly improved under CD, was found wanting...Stupid penalties are adding to the woes...I don't know what the answer here is...Maybe we should look at starting Goltz or at least have Buck on a short leash and have Justin come in if the stench continues...Frustration is starting show with the fans and if our offence doesn't improve next game, I'm afraid the boo-birds will take over the chants...Burke has to take this bull(crap) by the horns and lay it on the line to the coaches as well as players(he's called them out already)...Burke must be frustrated as hell as well, knowing he has the talent on offence and it's coming-up empty...T.O. will be no cakewalk..It's time for this offence to give the defence the type of game it deserves as well as the fans...Something better look a heckuva lot better on Fri. or the changes will start. :x
I don't believe any side of the team really played well; sure Defense did awesome a lot of the times but than again they also took a ton of penalties. Enough penalties that all their hard work got washed away.
Our O-Line was our typical garbage O-Line, which is interesting since in the 2nd quarter I really thought they were starting to get their groove together. I think they were trying to make them pay for blitzing but either Pierce would mess up the toss or Matthews would have butter fingers.
The worst though was our Special Teams, sure they did great keeping Lumpar(sp?) contained but 5 rogues which was the difference in the game, two terrible kicks which left with major short yardage; two penalties on punts which than led to poor punting which led to terribly short yardage. All of those combined led to the easy rogues and one of them really led to the touch downs.
Hamilton was the worst team in the EAST, that now makes Winnipeg the worst team in the East. I just don't feel that we are receiving the effort we really need from our O-Line or really any of our players. They manage to put the effort into one game and than they relax for the next. Consistency has always been a problem for our team and unfortunately that just turns into consistently finding yourself in last place.
According to Coach Burke, 130 yards of penalties were called on the Bombers special teams unit alone. Not a ton of penalties at all against the defense. This was a very good showing from the defense despite the loss, the same cannot be said of the other two units.
Well the Dline did. 7 sacks and essentially nullifying Walker and Lamar to the point where the ticats completely stopped running the ball with their backs. I wouldn’t say the entire defense was exactly lights out though, not when Burris tosses for over 350 yards.
Didn’t say they were lights out but they indeed played very well. The Bombers were lousy on offense and eventually the defense wore down some, but over all they played very well and certainly deserved a better fate.
