Bombers/Tiger Cats - Week 3

I'm very interested in this game. If we could ask for a match up to see just how good our D is and to see if our O can get going, this is it.

Go BLUE!

prediction ....the final score will not be 52-0 for either team!!! :lol:m guessing a feild goal will decide this one,a good offence vs a good defence, should be interesting as these two teams always like to beat the snot out of each other,by the way very impressed with your new stadium, comes across great on t.v. great venue kinda reminds me of seattles stadium.Hopefully Mr. Johnson will meet up with Mr.Peirce again(OUCH!!!) looking forward to it.See ya all on Sat. cheers over and out!! 8)

.......I'm expecting a break-out game from our offence...I'm getting a little tired of hearing from Crowton, about how certain schemes will be implemented and we finish offensively with the same disappointing result...Certainly the game plan must be executed properly to be successful but eventually the whole offence has to be called into question, if things stay the same, including the co-ordinator...We have some great talent on offence..It has to be utilized properly...It goes without saying the main man at the controls (Buck) has to stay upright AND make good decisions...I think this game against a , let's say, not so stellar defence will show us a lot....Time to show us something Buck and crew or changes will definitely be made...Not only my opinion but coming directly from Burke...Looking forward to the game on Sat.

Line up changes -

Dexter Davis Jr in for Freddie Harris
Isaac Anderson in for TE
Marquis Frazier in for Bryant Turner

Etienne apparently is OK to play after the injury in practice the other day, apparently got his bell rung.

On the Tabbies end looking like Fantuz and Gable are out, meaning Chevon Walker gets back on the field. It’ll be interesting to see how the new guys hold up vs the run on the bomber Dline. Bombers really got after Burris that first game in Winnipeg and were able to sack him 3 times and force him into 4 fumbles. In 2 games vs the bombers they were able to keep Walker to basically nothing, under 25 yards each game. Williams was the biggest threat for the Tabbies vs us last year and he’s not around which is in our favour. After last weeks debacle for Lindsey Lamar, if they can get in his head on special teams and not let him rebuild any confidence early, I think things will be looking good for the BnG.

For the Ticats expect Dee Webb to be out again, probably CJ Gable so yeah Chevon Walker will be in, Terrence Parks likely out so probably Ricardo Coclough back at LB, Fantuz still out so Simon Charboneau-Campeau gets the call again. No word on whether our starting RT Joel Figuoera is back yet

Part of the ineptitude is Buck. He’s never going to wow with stats, so we shouldn’t expect that. As long as he can manage a game, move the ball when needed and limit the turnovers, we’ll be OK. The Cats have been giving away real estate faster than the markets on the prairies the last few years :stuck_out_tongue: This is the game we need to jump start our rushing, which has not been that good so far. I’d like to see Simpson get 100.

I’ve been looking forward to seeing the future of the Dline in Zac Anderson & DD on the field, but I didn’t think it would be so soon. With these rookies, I’m a little worried about containing Burris and stopping the running game. Hoping they can come up big. Would be great to keep stockpiling the sacks.

Definitely, I thought we were only missing Bryant I didn't realize we were missing both the starting DT's but than Anderson has been doing a great job. I'm sure with the proper coaching and if our defense are into the game and not taking penalties they'll get the job done. Burris does like to rush but he has also often had problems with ball control because of rushing.

This might be another one of those high turn over games if Winnipeg doesn't get their ball control handled; 3 and 4 turnovers for each team.

Anderson had a pretty good first game vs Mtl who has a solid veteran Oline. Harris I thought played well in the first two games and they are replacing him with Dexter Davis saying he is even better at pass rushing. Hall is the concern for me, he's missed a fair amount of practice time but will play. The question is if he's hurt and how much that could slow him down. If Hall's in good shape I think the Dline will be OK. If Hall is limited, and already being without Turner and Gilmore the line, becomes a bit greener then things become a whole lot more interesting.

I think the area to watch is the opposite Dline. Only 1 sack in 2 games for the Ticats and they've given up 100 yard rushers each of the last two games. This is a huge opportunity for the bombers oline to push around a dline that's not looking very good, get buck some time in the pocket, and get Simpson going. If that happens, I think its the blue have a really great shot at winning the game.

According to the depth chart Aaron Woods just signed this week comes onto the roster. Guess they must've liked what he was doing in practice returning kicks.

Woods is small in stature but has great balance and is good at bouncing off tacklers. Check out this Youtube video.....

I can't find where I read it but I don't think he'll be on the 42 man roster.

Austin sure gave the Bomber’s D some credit in today’s paper. Imagine what the Cats could do if they had a D like that?

What’s the difference b/w the 42 & 46? He’ll still play, won’t he?
I imagine he’s in not just for his return abilities, but they probably like his tank size & jet speed for beating the blitz.

....I read he won't be ready until the T.O. game...Woods looks real good on the vids....I hope he can display that talent up here..

On that Etienne catch, I swear I thought that was 2nd down Stoddard!
Greatly improved from last year.

I like that Goltz is getting snaps, ya there’s been some issues with exchanges etc, but we’ll need that experience behind centre down the road. Speaking of which, I hate when people bring up Buck’s QB rating. It takes a hit because of Goltz/Brink coming in in the red zone, that’s less TD’s thrown automatically for Buck which weighs heavy in the QB rating formula.

Zac Anderson has been all over the field. Love his speed. Guy cannot go back to the PR. Nice to see Davis get a sac, but that was the only time I saw him so far…

Palardy has sucked this year. Guy can't kick the long ones, so what good is he if he can't kick the ones within 40?
Renaud has struggled today too. Our kickers are getting schooled by Hamilton's kickers.

.....Offence...pitiful....Defence  ...We need to have a radical change on O :thdn:

...Buck.....Crowton you should be on notice

Let’s not be Montreal fans here and solely blame the OC. We all know what the problem is. Buck cannot defend the blitz, and opposing teams will continue to take advantage of that. You could have the best OC in the world, and it wouldn’t do any good when your QB can’t get the ball where it needs to go.
