Excellent news! I sincerely believe he was the keystone for the LB crew in Bighill’s absence.

Me too. I’m not expecting Tony to suddenly morph into a young Adam Bighill, but two years of a ‘26 year old Tony Jones’ could translate into two years of MLB dominance uninterrupted by injury for a change.

Our newly minted DC extraordinaire Jordan Younger was probably behind this signing. I have to believe that his jaw-droppingly stingy defense (which managed to somehow achieve excellence in the absence of a pass rush or a consistent linebacking corps) gave Younger some pull with Walters.

This may herald the end of the Bighill era. It should. An interesting comment on the Bighill “I’m going to play somewhere in 2024 interview” where he complemented the team going 8-1 without him. IOW they went 3-6 with him. Adam is a surefire HOF in his 1st year of eligibilty but somebody has to tell him it’s time to call it a day.

Tony Jones was a very valuable piece with the Elks in 2023. He played WIL & MLB & was a good ST’er. Rookie Anderson made him expendable. But he’s got all the tools & this is a very good signing.

He’s 29 though Maaax.:grinning:

I stand corrected. Tony Jones is 29 not 26. My mind flipped the nine to a six.

Darn it all. I might have to get Skynet to install those ECC memory modules into my brain compartment sooner than expected.
