Vaughtners along with Howsares and Rose were very disappointing D Line men. The Stamps suffered a huge amount of time where the opposition QBs had lots of time to pass and when they scrambled out of the pocket the old men found it hard to track them down. It was time for the Stamps to move on and rebuild their D line if Dickenson is to get back into the competition. Maybe Vaughters will put more effort into the job for the Bombers. It would have actually been better, IMO, to go after Rose , however.

Vaughters isn’t the long term answer. But @ 32 this year, maybe they get a year out of him. Big area of concern. Outside of Jefferson nobody on the DL scares anyone.

Absolutely 100%. Vaughters is OK, but he’s not a home-wrecker. Just another 30+ yr old hobo who puts in a good days work. Not much difference from Haba, but might be serviceable as a counter-punch to all-star Willy J.‘’

PS. Also appears Bombers have lost faith in their recruiting personnel, especially the southern bird dogs. Can’t find a difference maker to save their lives. Just hobos, nobodies & circle jerks.

PS2. Bombers good at recruiting A to A+ WRs (Schoen, Kenny, Ontario Smith, etc.) plus the odd solid DB and ST rounder. But drawing blanks and dirty straws with regard to OLs, DLs, MLBs and QBs. NOT A GOOD SIGN.

Some truth to that. Mitchell & Tony Jones were Elk castoffs. Tony, in particular, was a VG pick up but fact is he was beaten out by depth @ his former team. Dillon isn’t needed as a KR with Leake there. The other Jones, Jonathan, is an Argo castoff but may fit the bill in Wpg. And now Vaughters - the arrival of Orimolade made him expendable.

IMO the Jones boys improve the Bombers, Mitchell was a sure handed underrated returner with good stats & may help in that area - & Vaughters fills a need & is worth a gamble. But fact is, for better or worse, they were let go for better options by their old clubs, not $$$. They do address areas of need on the Bombers & are worth a looksee.

The Bombers are in purge and reload mode while still hanging on to the OLD core for one more run before Father Time catches up.

The Stamps seem to be in full-on rebuild similar to the Ti-Cats last year and continues into 2025.

Elks in the hunt for Rose … Ed needs this and so he will let the moths fly from the wallet to get the deal done.

It’s almost as if you think there won’t be 100 guys here in camp.
Our scouts have done a great job at finding BOTH Int & Nat talent over the years.

Look more carefully. Or just answer the following question -

Q. Who have the Bombers signed in the last two years that are difference-makers at the following positions

  • O-line
  • D-line
  • Linebackers
  • Kick Returners
  • QBs

Perhaps your answers will help change my mind.

When you set up a question for failure, you’re likely to find it.
Are you asking for an all star player in their 1st 2 years in the league?

Or can a point out that Dobson, Eli and Wallace all look like great Nat OL talent that any team would want?
DL: Garbutt, Haba, Lawson, Samson, Woods, Adams all young and improving
LB - Ayers was a good find lastyear
QB - lets see what T Wilson does this year before writing him off. Again what new QB is a difference maker in their 2nd season?

With that many teams pursuing Rose he can get some good green.

Of the 3 Stampeder DL men last year, Rose did the best, but that really isn’t saying much.

He didn’t perform all that well last year, compared to previous years, but I wish him success this year.

Hopefully only if he goes to Hamilton, because my team doesn’t need our enemies get too successful
