I liked his play in the UFL last season.

Bombers may have found the successor to Collaros.

It’s an improvement to what they have now. They have a realistic shot at Elgersma IMO. And, should Dinwiddie be able to bring Arbuckle over, which would be his preferred choice at #1, Brown may be available & Wpg would be an obvious landing spot. They’re not keeping Brown for the $462,500 hard money he’s looking to get in 2026. Don’t know if he has a bonus due in January but, if so, a decision could be coming quickly after Christmas.

I’d be shocked if Wilson is retained & IMO Streveler is only an option as a 3rd down guy. His results speak for themselves. His efficiency rating was abysmal & worse than Doege who had about the same # of passes but 4 fewer INT’s. If the Bombers are serious about moving on the QB situation needs to be addressed & this is a sign they are planning to bring in some competition - hopefully.

Agreed on all points.

But Zach and Streveler are leaders, aren’t they? You have to stick with loyalty, don’t you?

Obviously, I’m yanking chains here. But the premise is valid. Bombers are a loyalty team from the top down - OK, maybe not CEO/Pres. Wad Miller, who’s a millionaire businessman, only charged with selling tickets, promotions and advertising streams. Other than a multi-year stint as a pug-nosed, tenacious special teams assassin, Miller has never held any pro football jobs in management, coaching, training or even administration (unless you count the couple years he served as Lyle Bauer’s agreeable caddy).

Both Zach and Streveler may have futures in coaching, even management. Zach is an old smoothie at the media game and Streveler learns fast (other than reading opposition defenses which he’s very poor at)

Elgersma still a whisper in the wind. Bryce now a Bomber - and Brown could be on the verge of being poached from Ottawa.

Imagine a 2025 Bomber QB core:

#1A - Collaros (there’s no way this 38 yr old injury riddled guy can go more than 12 or 13 games)

#1B - Brown, great arm, more escapability than the declining Collaros, although both guys would need a definite upgrade on the Bomber o-line to be viable.

#2 - Bryce

#3 - Elgersma or Streveler (if its Streveler, he should be on track to be a position coach so his fierce leadership stays in Winnipeg)

To do this - both Zach and Brown would have to take significant haircuts financially. Strevs and/or Elgersma would be in for development money, nothing much more than $110k each.

Zach is nowhere near worth $600K. It was interesting the last 2 years, for QB’s under contract already, Zach was the only one who didn’t adjust his contract. I don’t see that happening here with him saying…….for the good of the team……while at the same time pleading to bring everybody back for another run at……………4th or 5th place.
