A bench warrant indicates that Mitchell was subsequently charged with the following: fleeing; reckless driving; aggravated assault; improper turn; driving left of centre; careless and prohibit driving; interference with a law enforcement officer; following too close; driving over 100 MPH; driving while license cancelled, suspended or revoked; and restrictions on passing overtaken vehicle on left.
“This morning, we learned of an incident involving Dillon Mitchell that took place last week,” a Blue Bombers spokesperson wrote to 3DownNation on Thursday. “The club is gathering additional information and will not be providing further comment at this time.”
holy sh**t this vid - check out at about 4:00 mark when he cuts off a car from the inside lane at high speed and takes out the sign!
Pretty sure we only hear of a scant few of these situations and incidents.
At least he was not the driver of the car in a bank robbery or drive by shooting.
This has already been covered in the Bombers forum and of all places, the Als forum. I guess they are more familiar with player malfeasance there than in any other forum. Just one of many former players to do something stupid.
I think I remember reading something previously where Dillon Mitchell had shared he had a drinking problem. This may have been previous to him being with the EE. It’s too bad that he must have had a very bad lapse now. Hopefully he will be able to get the help he obviously needs.
I feel for anyone fighting an addiction. I also hope they get their life together.
That said, no excuse for what he did. He will have to play the iron price so to speak.
Absolutely. My former neighbor had a huge problem. I really felt for him.
I didn’t feel for him when he got behind the wheel - I felt for everyone on the road.
I would feel the same way. All click bait. He played for the Elks longer than the Bombers- I don’t really care who he played for. Not a great player and now a prospective criminal to boot.
If this reaches the felony level, he won’t be allowed back in Canada, nor would the BB want him back. Not sure if a misdemeanor would preclude him from entering Canada. I know that the opposite, going into the USA would be a no-no.
Indeed, always too much empathy for the offender. Years ago a friend was killed in a car crash, caused by a DUI. Couldn’t believe how much outpouring of support for the perp. This was not an accident, as it was referred to at the time…it was not….it was the result of a choice, a very poor choice that left a legacy of unbelievable pain and suffering.
I got a chuckle from the disclaimer near the end of the video: “All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
I mean, they video the offence, video the suspects response to it, and then post it to a public website for all to see – including any potential jurors.
Man, they sure don’t screw around in Arkansas.
