Two losses in Winnipeg in close games decided by laughable penalties
The cfl is a disgrace and I’ll be letting Randy know my season tickets will not be renewed
The marquee matchup for Week 12 was a thriller. The Stamps and Bombers exchanged 5 lead changes and one tie. The TSN turning point was a terrible holding call on Stamps Ryan Sceviour with under 3 minutes to play on the Stamps final possession which negated a third down conversion Rene Paredes was denied a game winning field goal. Final score 31-29.
P.S. The good news is this was Al Bradbury's final league game as a Ref-Adios Al. My game ball goes to Nick Demski of the Bombers.
that is exactly what I love about Stamps fans…sorest losers in the cfl. If anything this game proves the Stamps are just as good as the bomber…
two other takeaways You only have to beat the bombers in the play offs… regular season is only for play off positions despite the red fan base insisting the grey cup should be awarded to stamps every year.,.this year will you insist it is because the refs hosed you…How many years did the Stamps DOMINATE the Riders in regular season play only to see te Riders defeat your supermen in a west semi or final…get over it that’s how the game is played
This game is also the best argument ever for a different playoff format because this year the grey Cup should be Cow Town and the Bombers …and the play off should reflect a format that greatly favors the two best teams over all not the stupid East vs West

The holding was a weak call by the refs. I will say though the RTP call on Willie Jefferson was also pretty soft. But still a great game by both teams. Amazing that all 3 games between them could probably be in the Top 10 games of the season
The CFL fan in me wants a playoff game against Calgary but the Bomber fan in me says there is no way we beat Calgary 4 times in one season. Time will tell
The better team won. Calgary won the turnover battle, ToP, and put up some good yardage. But when the game was on the line the Bombers only allowing18 yards passing in the the 4th was the difference. Calgarys D couldn’t get the job done for them either. But anyways, bye sunshine. Those bench seats are tough on the a$$ anyways.
I would like to point out to bigreded that the Stamps, IF the bombers are the better team they are only better by a slim matter of a one micron. Again gotta say,you only have to win one game a year when you play an equal and that one game is in the playoffs… Stop whining and making lame ass excuses. You will find life far more enjoyable when you figure out football is only a but. a game
I don’t think that holding was questionable. The one replay shows Bighill beating Sceviour off the line and then being pulled down… that’s a hold. The nice thing about football vs other sports (re: hockey) is the refs will call a penalty regardless of the situation. A non-call would have made it questionable.
In no way shape or form was that NOT Holding… Good call by the ref. However he did not know he was supposed to put away the flag on such important down for Stampeders fans. He will do better next time. He promised.
All three games between these two teams were thrillers. It goes without saying that as a Blue Bombers fan, a little enjoyable than for a Stampeders fan but all three of these games really could have gone either way. How great would it be for these two teams to face off in the Western Final although law of averages says Calgary is due. I have to think that Mitchell should get used to holding a clip board as I can't see Calgary taking Maier out anytime soon.
Amazing the Bombers won by 2 pts. Severely handicapped by Maier gashing them for over 300 yds thru the air & Ka'Deem Carey slashing for major yds thru a top d-line.
In the end Bombers won due to better discipline and courage down the stretch. Many of the Bomber's better players had perhaps their worst games of the year. The list includes:
Willy Jefferson - his push was limited, Stamps successfully deployed a brush back blocker to seal him off.
Zach Collaros - 2 Zac-Pics, both on underthrows. Both took points off the board. Got lucky on his fumble.
Dalton Schoen - a couple respectable catches but nothing out of the ordinary.
Adam Bighill - a gamer but beaten 1 on 1 by several Cowboy ball-carriers.
Bomber corners - ravaged hard
You have your best players delivering subpar or average efforts and you still win. AMAZING!
Every single time it is the same. Stampeders fans (not all of them) are such whinny little babies after every loss it is pathetic. Also hilarious stamps fan complaining about the refs when they have a history of getting calls in their favour almost every single game. Just an fyi that holding call was bad but you know what call was worse that roughing the passer on Jefferson. Your team won the turnover battle, your best players completely outplayed Winnipeg best players you had the proper guy running your offense for once and you still LOST. Can stamps fans just admit for once that all three loses against Winnipeg isn’t luck they just aren’t better than them. Be grateful that Saskatchewan been inconsistent and bc now don’t have a qb cuz if both these were the opposite you would be a crossover team at best.
The switch to Maier was a big improvement. The offense struggled in the first two games against Winnipeg. Both could have been wins for Calgary with the kind of production we had yesterday. Our defense needs help, maybe its just the short week after being forced to play far too many minutes last game because the of a struggling offense. Hopefully we can get at least some of our star defensive players, Tre Roberson, Jameer Thurman, Titus Wall back. I think having 5 DB's on 6 game shows on our back end but just as big an issue was stopping the run. Some late NFL cuts might help us.
stamps played better than well enough to win this… Even taking away the reff mistakes as they went both ways on key plays. The end result was more to do with two very equally matched teams and the play off game with these two teams is NOT dictated by regular season play.
This came down to one or two plays by the two D teams… Most likely one key play went the bombers way … And again taking the reffing right out of the equation this game could have gone either way
