Collaros, Bailey, Lawer. This team is going all the way!
You couldn't find the Stegall last second TD he called? Disappointed...
We're talking about going all the way with no mention of Schoen, Grant, Oliveira, Augustine, and a few others? We could maybe include Rose, Jefferson, Bighill and a few other defenders too.
We have to keep this stuff under our hats. If we brag too much about our amazing way over the top lineup there's a small chance that some of the other forum members will stop liking us so much.
I KNOW it's a stretch.
But trust me, there are people out there who MIGHT start getting tired of seeing us win soooo many games per season year after year. Don't get me wrong, to me we're winning just the right amount games. Eighty percent is hardly unreasonable considering how insanely good we are compared to the rest.
I just don't want us to come off as braggarts or anything like that.
Now excuse me while I bask in our brilliance one more time. AHHHHHH. That felt good.
I completely understand. That's why you will seldom if ever see any superlatives in my comments. I've seen my favorite teams reach the top and I've seen them crash and burn, because everything is temporary.
To get a better understanding of how I approach things goggle "Jantelagen"
I would have liked just one more win last year.
No wonder the Scandanavians are superior beings (I'm kidding).
'Jantelagen' is something our democracies aspire to but seldom achieve. 'No one is better than anyone else' has been around for centuries (my parents tried their best to keep me humble). Personally I think the whole world would be better off if we incorporated a healthy dose of Jantelagen into our daily thinking.
In the US they're STILL struggling with that 'all men are created equal' phrase penned by Thomas Jefferson (he's a REALLY old Blue Bomber fan). Why it resonates with so few down there is beyond me.
Down here too many believe: "All men are created equal, but some men are more equal than others."
I find it interesting that Jantelagen first appeared in a story written in NORWEGIAN by a DANISH author and taken its firmest hold in Sweden, but it has also spread to Finland and Iceland. We can't establish consensus on anything within a single nation.
I think the small(population) countries in question also then to live by he philosophy of the Possum Lake sage Red Green; "I'm pullin' for ya, we're all in this together!"
Who?
wait whut you’re a bomber bandwagoner too? awe come’on! lol
I am from America. I know nothing about the CFL before about a week ago. I just like the city of Winnipeg.
hah that’s cool. welcome to our forum. always great to have more american fans of the game here.
i was actually commenting on @IllinoisGuy’s choice of CFL team but his NFL teams are losers so i’ll give him a break. lol
What’s not to like?
We ARE ridiculously likeable.
We also have Goated Hockey teams!
Back in our AVCO Cup Glory days.
The Good Days
Every time I think back on that crazy signing I think of this page from Playboy Magazine where it got a mention. Sports-wise back in the 1970’s Winnipeg NEVER got a mention for ANYTHING.
When Winnipeg signed Bobby,
The Black Hawks lost their king,
They moaned, “Quick! Alka Seltzer!
We hate the Hull-l-l thing!”
i bet you still have that issue in mint condition
