I’ll probably take a beating from my fellow Bomber fans for this, but I for one am relieved that we now have a back-up QB (or two) that can get the ball downfield through the air. Yeah, Dolegala has had his issues in the past but at least with him (or Scott) we can still utilize the great hands we have in the receiving corps if the No. #1 goes down. Streveler is a fine player and a great teammate, but he has a limited skill set and that has to be acknowledged. Welcome Jake & Bryan…

Totally fair comment. I wouldn’t worry about our fellow Bomber fans. We don’t all have the same opinions, and that’s all right. I’m a huge Streveler fan myself, but I haven’t seen the progression from 2019 and NFL experience that I was expecting. Has there actually been more of a regression? Perhaps it’s the packages designed for him, but even his bread and butter of running down field has somewhat disappeared. He has become pretty much a short yardage specialist like Prukop or McGuire. LaPo was the offensive coordinator 5 years ago, so that could be another contributing factor. Either way, we absolutely need a backup qb who can come in that can move the ball down the field. Dolegala definitely has more CFL experience and size, but does Scott have more upside? Hopefully, Collaros will stay healthy and we won’t have to find out too soon. But it’s good to have some young qb’s in development.

Very interesting comment about Scott. Would be very keen to see him get a few reps if if the opportunity was there. I share your feeling about Streveler’s apparent lack of development since 2019. I don’t know about any regression, but there certainly has been no progression that I can see. This season above all others in my recent memory has demonstrated that most teams need more than just one QB on the roster capable of starting and effectively running the offence. Montreal, Ottawa, Edmonton, and even Hamilton have all demonstrated this theory admirably at one time or another this season. As much as I admire the guy, I don’t see Streveler leading the team throughout the post-season if we make it.

Getting these guys coached up and with some reps will be so beneficial to the Bombers lest we have a repeat of Kevin Glenn going down and Dinwiddie leading us in the Grey Cup…

One step at a time before anyone thinks I’m getting ahead of myself.
