Offensive lineman Kelly Butler, a former Grand Rapids Union High School football standout, has signed an undisclosed contract with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.
Butler, 27, spent time in the NFL with the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns.
The 6-foot-6, 290-pound right tackle was drafted by the Lions in the sixth round of the 2004 NFL draft (172nd overall) out of Purdue and started all 16 games for Detroit during the 2005 season. He started five games for the Browns during the 2006 season.
