Bomber News and Discussion 2025

Ya, many seem to be getting a little less excited about Wilson. He’ll be given a shot before Artopeus, but if he doesn’t perform, Arty could take the #3 before long.

Or maybe Kyle Walters will bring in one of those unsigned QB’s floating around the league with CFL experience who need a home like say… Cameron Dukes.

I strongly suspect Bombers will hold off on The Duke until all other options are tested - or major injury to Streveller or Collaros.
Bombers are well known as the CFL’s most cautious football operation - loyalty is king. Seems no other CFL operation is willing to reel in The Duke at this point so Bombers, like always appear to be in no rush to go anywhere.

I dunno, methinks you snooze you lose, but we don’t know how the Bombers’ show is going yet.

Hmm, still no Dillon Mitchell. Hopefully, he’ll get the playbook and systems figured out soon and be a big contributor on offense. And I’m really hoping that Vaughters taking some of the attention off Willie Jefferson will result in a BIG year for #5.

Willie (Doctor) J will have an epic season operating on opposing quarterbacks this year. Expect our rock 'em sock 'em doctor to need the services of a really good malpractice attorney once the mangled bodies come stumbling out of post op.

So close your eyes fellow Bomber fans if the sight of crushed opposition hopes makes you a wee bit TOO giddy. :bombers::beaver:

Lots of questions with this lineup…I wonder how Mitchell feels about not dressing? Is he going to pout, or get his butt ready? Both Vanterpool & Randolph in, and maybe Wallace too? Hope they can prove themselves. Ayers as the 3rd DE? That’s a head scratcher. No Woods? No J Jones? Secondary should be fine.

I’d love to see Strev be able to prove he can throw and get a good 250+ yards. Line needs to give him time though, and not sure with all these moves.

Lots of hidden disruption in Bomber land prolly means a close fought loss to the unbeaten Lions Toisday nite. Gremlin O’Rourke was a tiny bit off in last week’s W - but Tray Ford was worse!
No Zacharias, no Dillon Mitchell, new makeshift o-line, no Bighill tenacity (good thing cuz Rourke would have blown him away to the edges) and no real back-up QB options - although I suspect O’Shea will stick with Strevs thru thick 'n thin. 30% chance of a blowout win by the Lions but more likely the tenacious Bombers, driven by loyalty and a large opening night crowd, put up a decent fight - before succumbing around early in the 4th quarter.

PS. Bombers are notorious slow starters.

You’re right. A lot of uncertainty with all the changes and new people. Mitchell and Woods are both healthy scratches and placed on the one game injured list. Hopefully, they’ll show their professionalism and character by working harder to get into the lineup. I’m very curious about the new OC and the ‘exciting’ offence he is promising. But I am expecting big things from the hopefully seasoned and wisened Streveler.

By ‘big things’ you mean, ‘he’s gonna kick their butts and take names’… RIGHT?

With Mitchell it was known all camp that he hasn’t been what we hoped. Woods being scratched comes out of left field, I thought he was right with Adams. J Jones not playing is the other big question, but we have 5 NAT LBers, so guess there just isn’t room right now.
Kyrie better not come up lame…

I think you hit the nail on the head with the number of nationals making the team and the coaching staff trying to manage their roster. The exit of Wolitarsky and Ford as national starters may have forced them to rejig their lineup in less than optimal combinations. And maybe this is the year Wilson will be healthy enough to play at least 15 games. Lord knows he’s due.

Not a big surprise..

I don’t think it worked too well lastyear, but I’m keeping with the cutting grass on gameday routine, mostly as a way to pass the time before kickoff. At least it’s green again, for now at least.
Did you get your grass done today @WeGotTheCup ?

Meh, you don’t need to cut the grass before the game when in the fourth quarter the Bombers offence has the…
MOWING CREW!

No Zach, no Brady… but we still managed 200 yards along the ground and nearly 250 yards in the air. Talk about balance. And we owe it all to the mowing crew.

Go cows! Mooooooo!
