Love this about the bombers, O’Shea, and the culture they’ve built.
Osh might want to bring everyone back, but not everyone WANTS to come back to a ship that been sinking lower in the water every year since 2024.
TO THE LIFEBOATS!
It’s women and children first! Oops… correction, it’s women, children and men dressed like women first!
Sorry, I’m being told that it’s women, children, men dressed like women and men who would like to dress like women but can’t fool anyone because they have beards.
Right… TO THE LIFEBOATS!!!
I don’t know what possessed Hogan to call 6 touches for Oliveira by mid 3rd quarter.
You’re going to hitch your wagon to Cobb, Sterns, and Corcoran over Oliveira?
Give that head a real big shake.
Osh recently commented on Hogan’s outstanding ‘work ethic’ so it looks like our league-worst OC didn’t rise to the bottom by sitting on his can all day.
There’s a certain irony given that Hogan was previously the RB coach before taking this role.
Writing might be on the wall if Brady feels slighted by Hogan.
John Wayne Gacy had a good work ethic, too!
Too soon???
That may be, but clearly Hogan has to go. He was the worst co-ordinator in the league on otherwise the best coaching staff in the league. It wouldn’t have been hard to improve on Buck Pierce but somehow Hogan made Pierce look like a genius.
This is where it gets sticky. O’Shea picked him and it sounds like O’Shea wants to stand by his pick ‘til death do he part. I hope that’s not the case.
Anyway, if Osh wants to pick another DC he’d best do it sooner this time around.
DC or did you mean OC?
Right… OC. Sorry about that.
Well, now that Dinwiddie has fled Toronto for the big city life only Ottawa can provide… does O’Shea get lured away from the Peg by the same people who let Dinwiddie walk?
It’s certainly possible. O’Shea has big ties to Toronto, is without a contract, is close to Pinball and this season could be looked at as an end to the Bomber dynasty. It might be a natural time for a change. I’m not sure if coaching in an organization that covers up sexual harassment would be an attraction for Osh though. Now would be a good time perhaps to finally fire Pinball’s ass for his cover up and if so Osh might be GM or GM/coach like Dinwiddie in Ottawa.
Holy seismic power shift Batman!
If Osh bolts then I’m 100% certain (although I’d never put money on it) that Jordan Younger will get the job here at the ripe old age of 47.
If O’Shea were to leave WPG then TO seems like a fit for sure. I don’t think he’s interested in being a GM or GM/Coach combo guy, i think he loves coaching and that’s it. I also think Mike loves coaching the Bombers, the history of the team and the City. It would have to be a pretty sweet deal for him to leave i would think but all good things do come to an end at some point. I think what happens with Walters could affect what O’Shea does or who knows maybe Wade Miller wants to make a change although i doubt it. Things obviously will become clearer after the Grey Cup and all concerned will have a sit down. The Bombers still have some good pieces, young up and coming players and some vets who are still productive. I think they need to get younger on the Dline and need to upgrade the Oline as well. O’Shea would likely relish the challenge of reconfiguring the Bombers, we’ll see what the off season presents. Of course getting an heir apparent to Collaros is a must, easier said than done but there will be options i think.
Agree with most of what the Bombers you say need and definitely don’t need an overhaul. If Montreal wins the Cup, despite their warts, the Bombers gave them a good run and almost beat them. They are not like Edmonton or Ottawa who have been perennial losers for a few years.
One thing for sure is that it will be Osh’s decision as to whether he wants a change. Nothing lasts forever. Let’s not forget that he might almost double his salary or at least make $150,000-$200,000 more. That’s some powerful motivation.
Yes for sure, the Bombers definitely don’t need an overhaul, i like what i saw from those two Dline players that played in the regular season final, the new blood could be right there. It remains to be seen what happens with Oliviera but i wouldn’t be too eager to pay him whatever he wants, hopefully they can strike a deal but Peterson was pretty good himself when he played. That would be the one thing i think that could tempt O’Shea to leave and that would be a huge salary bump but he doesn’t seem driven by money, at least that’s the perception i have. If he does leave for TO he would need the raise just to be able to afford to live there, haha.

That’s okay @Maaax, as an old guy myself, I fully understand the struggle. Perhaps not the struggle of a semiaquatic rodent though. Still, beavers🦫 rule!
(I’m assuming your fur is turning at least a little grey, of course)
Generally agree with your take on potential free agents except I would say as follows:
In my opinion Nichols is still the best DB in the league, much less maybe having a year left. He isn’t noticed much of course as his man is rarely thrown to. Such is the respect he gets from opposing coaches and QB’s. Toegether with Holm they form far and away the best halfback pairing in the league. I have said it before, but it is a credit to the Winnipeg secondary for allowing the least passing yards against two years in a row with the worst pass rush in the league. That’s unheard of. Although Winnipeg is historically a DB finding machine, I say keep the good parts you know together as long as you can.
Was never a fan of his even before he left and before his off field scandal. Much less so now. He can go. A riverboat gambler that gives up far too many big plays. I note that the Ticats didn’t win the Grey Cup by throwing at Nichols as you noted on the last play, but the Als did win the Grey Cup by avoiding Nichols and throwing at Houston twice their last two plays including a “how did you let him catch that” moment on the 3rd down gamble. Buh bye.
