Bauming and Schnitzer got in a pretty heated argument on the Bonfire Podcast about whether to sit down Zach Collaros and what that means to team culture.
Bauming insinuated that sitting Collaros was tantamount to giving up on the game and giving the impression that its ok to lose.
Schnitzer with the argument that giving Streveler more reps would be good for the long run and that protecting Collaros from potentially getting injured is a worthy cause.
Bauming then insinuates that Schnitzer is giving up on the team.
Bauming is out of touch. When Zach doesnât have it, he just doesnât have it. Swaps are made all the time in sports if the starter canât get it done. Leaving him in to do nothing could also be viewed as giving up on the team.
That âhandoffâ to Brady was like watching the keystone cops play football.
This is particularly true when arguably we have the best 1-2 punch in the league. Use Streveler more. Certainly in a blowout of any kind and also during a non blowout to make the defence have to shift strategies and confuse them. It also puts less wear and tear on an aging Zach. In my opinion they should have pulled Zach earlier last night. He just didnât have it in spite of having the best game by a QB in the league this year the week before. Think of him as Hellesuck and it being an NHL playoff game.
In the end BloâShea was just giving the fans a seminar in sheer stubbornness; OâShea doesnât care if his guys get injured - theyâre paid well to perform, not idle on the bench. The worst indiscretion was keeping a guy with chronic knee problems on the field - ie. Schoen. In any event, if given the opportunity to damage his starters, OâShea wonât pass it up.
Did Schoen get hurt in the game? I think there was some Oline shuffling as well. Was that due to injury or just trying to do something different? We likely wonât hear about any injuries for a few days.
Iâll be taking the family to the rematch game! After that stinker, is our sellout streak at risk?
Stamps molesting Bombers without much resistance almost GUARANDAMTEES another sellout. If the shoe was on the other foot and Bombers had manhandled the Stamps, I suspect next weekâs crowd might hover around 29,000 to 30,000. Still great, but not 33,450.
If Bombers get stomped again, well, the Riders are in for the Banjo Bowl - another virtual SRO.
Youâre prolly right. Original source for this old hepcat = Old Cal Murphy or Old Dave Ritchie . . . CFL language patterns always has interesting vernacular interspersed
Zachâs face went dark at the beginning of Free Agency. His favorite pair of hands had been lured away by deeper pockets and the big city lights of Hamilton.
So fist raised, Kyle Walters looked to the sky and screamed, âDamn you salary cap space limitations that were not as tight as I thought they were because I missed the memo!"
Then with a heavy heart Walters turned around came back inside because it was winter and his new five dollar gloves (he had a coupon) were still in transit from Amazon.
And now Kenny Lawler is smoking DBâs like a guy who doesnât care about his lungs and sooner or later heâs gonna bring that filthy habit here⊠or there if itâs an away game. We are entering the forgotten realm of the have nots and our collective noses are pushed up against the glass in envy.
That is one messy window.
@Paolo_X and I will pass the hat around to buy some Windex and a squeegee to clean it off. Eww.
Ya, we should have tried as hard as possible to keep both Schoen & Lawler, even if it meant giving up a draft pick like BC did. One last kick at the cat at home with this group and going out with a bang.
Iâm sure we could all live with a few rebuilding years after that?
Bombers notoriously secretive about revealing injuries and their durations. Suspect Dalton out for at least 3 weeks (including bye week) but could easily be placed on 6-game IR.
Know nothing about Bryant other than he got roller-skated and totally over-powered by now-injured Jacob Ceresna.
Wrestling isnât really my thing but recently I went to a local show and I have to admit I had a really good time. If you lean into it a bit and cheer for the good guys and boo the bad guys it can be a really fun night
