Bomber News and Discussion 2024

STOP RIGHT THERE ye matey!

Thar be fighting words ye matey on the high seas.

Yar be heresy, and yonder punishment be THE BLADE!

Prepare ye for battle! Arrrrggh!

Now wait a second now, the Bombers had not lost a game when Streveler played in August plus 7 September, and Streveler sure had some role in the winning in each of those games until he got hurt.

Now of course Streveler is not the future and I don’t think anybody has been making those claims or that his best was not in the past, but he fit in well enough to help power those wins, the critics be damned.

This is also why we had to have ceremonial mourning slow sail for him along with seven shots of the cannon. Streveler and his winning spirit will be missed.

In contrast to your subsequent heresy today, this is akin to scripture.

That’s the mark of a good team anywhere including a workplace, including especially that part about ATTENTION TO DETAIL and even better, attention to the IMPORTANT details FIRST.

Such is sadly the exception, sort of like aboard our ship on the high seas thanks to the leadership of Captain Timbers as you know, and not the norm.

Also I agree with you that there is much to be said about those damn meddlin’ kids, but go easy on some of them, and you’ll probably still be able to get away with it.

Agreed! Despite being out since the banjo bowl, Streveler is still leading the league in rushing tds at 10. As you say, he certainly helped power the Bomber wins prior to his injury.

I make them a very similar way.
Very labor intensive don’t often make them for that reason

I find Kraft Dinner to be labour intensive.

Does not take much effort to throw a box into the garbage before opening and making it.

I was raised on Kraft Dinner. I refuse to refer to it as “KD” :grinning:.

Important to refrigerate the rings with damp paper towel, this helps the batter to remain on while frying

When I was working at A&W, Sunday was a horrible day of work.
Arrive 4 hours before opening,
Change oil in all fryers, add new oil, it takes 3 hours to heat the for cooking.

Clean all fryer vents, and bun toasters

Cut onions for rings about 30 lbs, separate rings store in water, save small pieces to make diced onions for burgers etc.

Prepare 5 large tubs to dress the onions, flour tub, batter tub, drip tub, breadcrumb tub, finished product tub. Usually make enough for a full week stored in a near 0 degree walk-in. Clean all tubs. Start all over again to prepare the bone-in Chubby ChickenÂŽ enough for 3 days.

Now go back to the bucket of onion pieces, finish dicing them, then slice tomatoes about 3 large trays. Then finally build your work space grill & fryers areas.

Welcome to A&W, may I thank your order please.

WINNIPEG, MB., September 30, 2024 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the following transactions:

Added to practice roster:
American offensive lineman Jake Hornibrook (6-5, 300, Duke)

Released from practice roster:
American quarterback Bryan Scott

I guess the Bombers are sticking with Dolegala and Grainger.

In the Hamilton Tiger Cats 2024 sub-heading of the Cats forum, Grover has posted an article written about Bernie Custis. He will join the Wall of Honour at the game on Friday against the Bombers.

The author notes that Bernie and Ron Lancaster used to hang together at practice, making fun of guys in the same manner as STATLER and WALDORF on the Muppet Show :grinning:.

No, I am not the author, Lol.

Dolegala was the better choice with more experience. But I don’t see him
playing this year. Possible trade bait for another team. Don’t know much about Grainger. But you never know stranger things happen. QB’s get hurt. Just wonder if Chris plans on ever coming back or if the Bombers actually want him back. Suffice to say they have some solid depth at the QB position now.

My brother used to work at A&W in the 1970’s when he was a teenager like @WeGotTheCup . Maybe if I ask him nicely he’ll tell me how he made them… or maybe he won’t. He mentioned long ago that they were messy to work with. At the other end of the spectrum was the A&W Root beer which was easy to make and was pure profit.

BTW A&W rootbeer used to be made in-house in the good ol’ days, the person who recommended me to A&W made the rootbeer in the cellar.
@rider01.1, 100% correct. Almost zero restaurants do the in- kitchen work anymore. That’s way restaurant food is for the most part… garbage.
I rarely dine out anymore.

I remember waking to A&W with 50 cents to buy a refill for the A&W glass gallon Jug.

“Where no lead is safe!” doesn’t just apply to individual games; it can apply to early-season standings too. It went the other way for the Blue Bombers in the 2019 regular season.

That’s pretty much the same lineup that completely demolished the Esks… uh, I mean the ‘Elks’ last week. Nothing’s a given but this COULD be the year that we finally beat the TigerCats in a regular season game on their own turf.

Fingers crossed. :beaver:
