I’m not sure I could ever place a bet against the Bombers when it comes to the Grey Cup. It would be tantamount to selling my soul to the devil.
Exactly! A heavily favored Bomber squad lost the '22 Cup with Collaros, Schoen & Bighill ALL IN THE LINEUP. Collaros threw an awful late game pick and after the Bomber D had miraculously blocked a Boris Bede FG, Collaros failed to get the Bombers in reasonable FG range (for a wonk like Marc Leggio, you gotta be inside the other team’s 30 - Leggio ended up with a fairly lengthy 47 yd attempt, which he shanked but was fortuitously blocked by an Argo thudder. Asking a rube like Leggio to kick a game-winning FG from 48 is like asking Pat Neufeld to run a 4.5 40. In Collaros last two drives of the 22 Grey Cup he tossed a pick to lead-legged Henoc Muambo and then had a 2nd and 4 pass knocked down at the line w/ Olivera at his disposal.
Well just thanks a whole fricking lot, a full year of therapy gone straight to he‼️. I just got use to sleeping through the night with waking up in the middle of the night screaming…
Yep, this all here sounds about right.

Now THAT’S the kind of ‘it could easily happen to you again’ talk our guys need to hear right now. Going into our 4th consecutive Grey Cup appearance as the heavily favored ‘Dynasty’ has upset written all over it. I’ve seen powerful teams play down to lesser teams in every league so if there’s a wee bit of fear, anger, urgency… or whatever it takes serum available to get our blood boiling then now’s the time to inject it. Cue Nurse SpankyPain.
No guarantees we all know but I remain optimistic. I have never seen Zach lose when he is pumped and on the warpath as he is now. His post Western Final game interview told me all I need to know. I am sure he remembers that he didn’t have his best game last year.
Even Als fans and many neutral writers have pointed out that Winnipeg has the edge in almost every aspect of the game. All they have to do is execute, unlike last year. We know it’s possible they screw it up but my Spidey sense is all quiet.
Go Big Blue!
I hope that your ‘Spidey sense is all quiet’ because there’s no danger of us losing. I’d hate to find out later that you got bitten by a hungry mosquito instead of a radioctative spider. Mind you that would explain why I’ve never seen you swing from skyscraper to skyscraper here in the 'Peg.
I only do that in the dark. That’s probably why you have never seen it.
Well that’s good to hear. I was beginning to suspect that it was because we don’t have any skyscrapers.
The best thing about Zach is he’s nearly 100% healthy going into this year’s Cup. Last year, as most remember, he was hobbled by a lower leg injury. He played thru it with drugs and needles but his mobility was really limited.
Looks like Oliveira is looking at the NFl. Not sure if he’ll be given much of a look. Also Zach trying to keep the band together.
Interesting that Oliveira wants “continuity” on the O-line. I can see that from a running back’s standpoint. But pass pro has to improve and some of those guys are getting a bit long in the tooth. If the team goes younger at O-line, will that drive Oliveira away?
One thing Brady should do is ask Jon Cornish how much interest he got in the US after his 1,813 yard season.
I was wondering what happened to him and thought he might be out of football but The Stove signed with BC. If he is healthy the Bombers sure could have used him.

More power to Brady if he can secure an NFL contract (not just practice roster either). A good backup NFL RB can make anywhere from $900k to $1.85 million/anum.
At 5’10", 225 lbs. Olivera is a powerful bi-pod. Give him an o-line who can open crevices for him and he’ll average 5 to 5.5 a carry, maybe even get 100 carries if utilized.
Good pass protect blocker too, that might be the tipper for a savvy NFL GM taking a look at him in training camp after reviewing Bomber film.
Only downside is he lacks breakaway speed. Sure he’s no better than a 4.65 to 4.75 40 guy which would put him in the bottom of NFL RBs. I could be wrong - Brady might be a 4.6 but I doubt it.
zach ain’t the GM. Leave personnel decisions to the GM and recruiting guy. Both OTs are long in the tooth and were too easily taken advantage of last Sunday. Kolankowski got his ass rocked by a savage Als DT. Gray has his moments, great team guy but foot technique lacks. Neufeld another old fossil but had a great year in 2023.
Won’t be able to keep all the WRs either. Demski, Wolitarsky & Orange should be the easiest group to sign. If Kenny Lawler wants another raise, he might be disappointed. Schoen just too old now (28) to get a legit NFL shot.
Don’t know about Sheed Bailey & a Greg McRae.
Add in a new OC and you have potential for a declining Greek Lobster (Collaros) to have a real fall-back season (10 to 12 wins)
Of course Zach isn’t the GM, but it’s often important for top players like Zach and Lawler and Jefferson to try and convince other players to re-sign or come to Winnipeg. Works the same for any team in any sport.
Lawler is also signed for next year.
Based on your past predictions Lyle, if you allow the Bombers potentially 12 wins I figure that 14 wins is a certainty.
lol - we’ll see. I think I’ve got a better chance of getting a date with Christina from TV’s bathtub to shower conversion commercial than Bombers have of getting 14 x Ws next year.
By the way, is your brother’s name Jethro? - because you are obviously Homer!!!
Well lastyear you had us pegged at
25% chance of 12-6
50% chance at 10-8
25% chance at 8-10
So I’d have to agree with Jon. But honestly, I see no reason why we wouldn’t contend for top in West again, probably finish around 12-6.
