We have now been “‘Schmekeled”.
Mike O’Shea (senior) response…as long as you’re playing in my stadium you will do as I say.
Mike O’Shea ( jr) stomps off to the dressing room, slams the door then pulls out his Twisted Sister 8 track tape, full volume.
We’re not gonna take it
No, we ain’t gonna take it
We’re not gonna take it anymore
Speaking of ‘we’re not gonna take it’… the Lions just released Steven Richardson. Could this be the year we get our Stove back?
From the sounds of this article, the Stove is cooked.
Richardson is off warranty and his replacement parts are hard to come by. But if we pick him up now and do a good job scrounging we’ll have a working Stove by next spring. It’s the Winnipeg thing to do.
The Bombers released players are linked below. O’Shea’s son was unsurprisingly one of the releases. So were a couple of kickers. Again no surprise since the signing of “bullseye” Castillo.

I was a bit surprised to see Noah Hallett released as well. I always confuse the two brothers and only remember that Noah is proficient at piloting big boats.
I guess the toaster oven is still pretty damaged and not in a position to move back to stove status as yet. If he can get healthy he would be a great replacement for Sayles.
Plus as a scratched and dented appliance Steven Richardson is sure to be a great bargain. Kyle Walters would be wise to snatch him up before THE CHEAP ONE (John Hufnagel) beats us to the cash register.
The clock is ticking.
Zack the Knife was injured and motion-restricted, lest we forget! The 2nd half of the Grey Cup was perhaps his worst 2 quarters (last quarter for sure) of football in a Bomber uniform. His last drive which resulted in Leggio’s muffed field goal attempt was hard to watch; but it was a compendium of errors between Zack, OC Buckingham Pierce & head boss O’Shea. Too bad a dynasty had to be stifled on that bad combination of Zack’s injury-riddled body, Pierce’s hubris & O’Shea’s inability to right the wrongs.
Bomber D and their defensive coordinator had zero answers for Chad Kelly once they knocked Bethel-Thompson out of the game.
I wonder if Noah Hallett’s injuries might be more serious than we think. It’s sad to wonder if the nature of his injuries may prevent a full comeback for such a young guy.
I know its some sort of knee injury . Hopefully he is able to comeback sometime
I read a report on 3DN that indicates that while his injury is not completely yet, but they do expect him to make a complete recovery. I wonder if their injury list is a little too long just now, or maybe the decision might be based on cap issues.
Thats good , his brother nick liked my message the other day where i said hope noah has a full recovery . I met both brothers last fall after a game and i streamed some of mcmaster football games Noah played in during 2019 .
Here’s a link to the second round of team cuts including the Bombers. Nothing in the list jumps out at me. All newbies cut.

Janarion Grant was suspended? What did our little ball of lightning do?
Hmmm. Usually it is family related or other commitments. Hopefully it’s nothing serious.
Yeah prior to his release a article said he was still recovering and wouldn’t be ready for the start of the season . So hopefully when he is healthy they do bring him back .
Our lack of intel on Chad Kelly was likely somewhat responsible for our inept response to whatever he was tasked to do to us at that point in the game. It could be that once MacBeth had been ‘knocked out’ we erroneously adopted a ‘mission accomplished’ attitude.
Either that or we just plain sucked.
I think everyone agrees that we could’ve done better.
In defense of Winnipeg star MLB could barely walk, let alone run. Bomber’s interior d-line was pushed around like small schoolboys, they didn’t have any oomph whatsoever. While Bighill was a gamer, even totally gassed it was just too many players on the Bomber D who couldn’t answer the call vs. the 1-man wrecking crew Chad Kelly. Mike O’Shea & Richie Hall could have doubled their football brain cells in that last quarter - but the sad fact remains - their troops were totally gassed.
It sure looked that way. Speaking of ‘totally gassed’… did you see how our field goal kicker missed those ‘totally makable’ kicks? He makes either one of those gimme’s and we wouldn’t be having this discussion.
FG kicking is one aspect of our game that’s going to get a whole lot more consistent during pressure situations this season.
FG kicking should get a complete makeover, including some better blocking on overload situations. Biggest problem in the makeover is that O’Shea tends to adopt flawed men in certain situations, ignoring common sense and putting games (and championships) in peril. One of those men is obviously Marc Leggio. Sergio will have to be at least 10% better than Leggio in camp and pre-season before O’Shea jettisons his low percentage kicking orphan.
Of course, O’Shea can be talked off the ledge because Leggio is almost certain to be installed as bomber punter & kickoff specialist to ease the pain of leaving O’Shea’s Orphanage. Leggio will also be the backup FG kicker should Castillo bust a gasket.
