Norm was evidently a Winnipeg native and played junior football for the Weston Wildcats before joining the Blue Bombers for whom he played in their glory years from 1956 to 1967. He played both ways, flanker on offence and safety on defence. He intercepted four passes in his first year with the Bombers and was the winner of the Dr. Beattie Martin Trophy for WIFU’s Canadian rookie of the year. He was a Western Conference All-Star in 1961 and caught 34 passes, intercepted 37 errant throws and scored 3 touchdowns over his twelve year career.
