Briggs is definitely a B to B+ player - a solid keeper!
However, until they sign a monster like Westerman. one more solid international linebacker, a solid 6th OL capable of challenging for a starting job, LaFrance plus at least 1 (prolly 2) national WRs this is still a team teetering between 6-12 and 9-9. Add to that another hobo QB to fill out the #3 and #4 spots plus a half-decent o-line coach (Fluff Wiley gone south to work for the championship Cleveland program)
I wouldn't count on anyone past the 1st CIS round to start or even rotation start this year. No more Taylor Lofflers to be sure.
Better get it right - as the primary needs (in no particular order) are: Canadian WR, ball-bustin' DL (import or non) & o-lineman (who can immediately secure the #6 spot and challenge rapidly for a starting spot)
Heard today on TSN 1290 that the bomber d-secondary is best described as ball-hawks who can't cover. Never quite heard it put like that.
