Boerichter signs today?....

...Stamps have called a press conference for this afternoon.....speculation is to announce Marc Boerichter has signed...

yep, Boe's back. very muchly needed.

...AHHH....he's probably all washed-up...knees are gone....and that's why he's signing on with the stamps.....(insert Albert Johnsons 111 for Boe) .... just funnin' with ya red2005 (where is he anyway..my son is conspicuous by his absence)....Boerichter will probably be a great addition...... the funs beginning for 07 already

....lol, don't know where '05 is, maybe one of his enemies caught up with him and shipped him to the Turks and Caicos.....

....Boe will need to earns hi splace but I'm hoping he is that Clermont or Fantuz piece that the stamps missed this year, a big target with big hands.....

Guys, we are hearing in Montreal that Copeland no longer fits in Calgary's plans. What's your take on that? :?

....very likely he will move, back to Montreal?...maybe, but I think the mgmt would like to see Copeland and Lewis split up so as to not cause the same discipline headaches for the coaches next year....I hear Cahoon is casting his eyes out west?....maybe a trade is in the works?....

Good thing that the stamps didn’t string out Copeland and Lewis, and handed over large signing bonuses at the start of this season, rather than waiting until the end. If they are traded for “not fitting in with the team plans”, they get to keep the up front money, and laugh all the way to the bank. Money well spent.

....not sure how that is relevant to this thread, unless it's the "damn! I argued my way into a corner on one thread so lets see how it works on another" theory.......so I'm to understand you are intimately aware of the workings of the Lewis and Copeland contracts, bonuses and such?....yeah, thought so....

Welcome home Boe!!!!

Ben you're next.

A little problem with Ben being next...he re-signed with Montreal!!!

Now all the Stamps need is a quarterback that can play consistent football.

I am aware that they were given large signing bonuses, to lure them into signing long term contracts with the stampeders. I am aware that one, if not both of them, will not likely be playing for the stamps next year, and they can kiss that bonus money goodbye. I am aware that this was an idiotic decision, to not wait until the end of the season to decide who fits into your future plans, and offer large signing bonuses to them. I am aware that your debating skills need alot of work, not unlike the stamps management that just threw alot of dollars away that could have been used on other players, that they actually want to stay in calgary. You catching on now, my friend?

He signed a contract, he still could be traded. Front end loaded contract had to be in today to beat the SMS. Look for Cahoon to be traded in the off season, with the signing of Boerighter, look for Ben to land in Edmonton.

....geez larry, I had no idea you were so intimately aware of the stampeders contracts....I will be sure to direct all inquiries to you and tap often into your insider knowledge on these things in the future....please accept my heartfelt apologies for daring to question your knowledge in this area....

No need to apologize, redandwhite. Your only problem is your lack of common sense, and lack of common knowledge. The fact that Copeland and Lewis were signed to long term contract extensions, with hefty signing bonuses was widely reported in the media. It does not require “intimate” knowledge of anything, other than the ability to read the written English language. Your apology is accepted, however. No hard feelings.

....oh no hard feelings at all larry, I just don't think we'll be able to manage without your vast knowledge of these items so please feel free to divulge your superior smarts as often as possible....so, because you have access to this info undoubtably, I need to know the signing bonus amounts, you wouldn't happen to have that info would you?...

Nope, I don’t know the exact totals. And as I’ve mentioned, it doesn’t require “vast knowledge” to know these things. Just a basic understanding of the English language, and access to the internet. I feel sorry for you that these common sense items escape you.

...please dont' feel sorry for me, I'll get along, I have managed to not have to use quotes all the time so there's hope for me yet....so if you dont' know the bonuses, then why do you assume they are for substantial amounts of money, the sum of which constitutes a really dumb business move?...

I find it embarrassing that you cannot seem to read my simple posts. Perhaps you need an English as a second language tutor. As I have stated many times, it was widely reported in the media that the stamps were taking advantage of the loophole by signing Copeland and Lewis to long term contracts with substantial signing bonuses, to reduce their annual costs after that, to keep their salary cap down. To do so, before waiting until the season was over, and deciding if you actually want to keep these guys around, is pretty stupid. Some other team will now benefit from the smaller annual contracts of one of these guys, while the stamps will swallow the entire bonus for someone that is not part of their future plans.

...hey, if you don't know the amounts man you just have to say so...dont' go blowing a temple vein....gotta run now larry, been a slice, I'll catch up with you later...
