Let me start by saying, I am not a Ticat fan. I'm from Ottawa. Fan of the non-existing CFL team.
It's absolutley shameful to see how some people react to a modem ticket price increase.
Bob saved the Ticats from its death bed a few years ago. He had a fantastic scoreboard installed. Changed the image of the Ticats. Made people want to come back to the park.
As an Ottawa fan, I would love to have an Owner like Bob. He PAYS the bills, and lets the football people do their jobs.
History Lesson:
The Renegades were building a fantastic team (dispite having Paopao as our coach). Tillman built a solid team, with quality Canadians. The 'Gades had an exciting 7-11 team after year two.
Year 3, we were hosting the Grey Cup. What did our Owner do? He cut spending, and ultimatley told Tillman to take a hike. Why? Watters knew he was bolting after the Grey Cup. He took his GC money, and dumped the team.
Leading up to Year 4, you couldn't even buy a season ticket because they was no one selling them. It was total disarray. The Glibermans (to Lonie's credit) took over the team during training camp, and sold the $99 season ticket campain. With only days leading up to the season, he had to get more people in the stands. Unfortunaltey for Lonie, he ended up being the same bonehead he was 10 year earlier. He took the spotlight off the team, and put in on himself, and the stands.
If Watters was comitted to the football team in the beginning, the Renegades would have been a powerhouse. (Go ask the Bombers and Roughriders - most of the Renegades are split on those two teams).
It's pretty safe to say, Bob isn't rolling around in his basement with his CFL earned money laughing at the people of Hamilton.
If the increase doesn't fit your budget, move to a different section. There are price points for everyone.
Stick with your team, because if Bob can't make it work, no one can.
