Blue Bomber Free Agent Priorities

Apparently you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
Who is it that harps about O’Shea’s “loyalty” and the need to re-tool?

That would be this mope.
But based on what I’ve seen so far in the off-season I have the Bombers and Stampeders as odds-on favorites to battle it out for 4th or 5th in West.
Last year might have been the end of an extended mini Western Dynasty. If the bow continues to break - more Wpg players start running for the hills, I’d actually have the Stamps as slight favorites to nab 4th in West.
The Loyalty Imperative seems broken into too many pieces to count.

All this may come to pass but it’s a fool’s game too make predictions this early. A game for which you’re eminently qualified.

I only know that half the lies they tell about me are not true.

It’s like the “based on a true story” you see attached to TV shows and movies. We always say “loosely based on a semi-true story”.

Although we knew Lawler was leaving us, he has now officially signed with Hamilton. So has Liam Dobson.

There is still a long way to go but it looks like the Bombers are spending less money than previously. They still need a backup QB although I thought Streveler would be signed but now I’m not so sure. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Bombers signed at least one very good free agent on the defensive side of the ball. Let’s not forget that the Bombers already signed Jamal Parker and have Cam Lawson back and healthy so that is like having two new players.

In any event, we don’t know what is going on behind the scenes, but I would trust that Bomber management has things well in hand as has been proven the last 5 years plus. The two best players we lost, Lawler and Ford, come from our biggest strengths, receivers and secondary. You can’t keep 'em all.

Not player movement but coaching movement. What does everyone think?

The good news is that the Bombers are still unbeaten in the 2025 season.
Bad news - they’re also winless.

I fear not enough upgrades, loss of key players, retirements & aging portend a queasy season in the Peg.

Glad thats your outlook , your usually wrong !

I’m always wrong - except when I’m right! lol

Lyle_B_Style, you’ve been a contributor since 2016, during that time can you tell us when you haven’t predicted a “queasy season in the Peg”? Inquiring minds want to know.

. . . and some don’t care.

Ah but then he wouldn’t be Lyle. . .no one is his superior when it comes to finding dark linings in silver clouds.

I certainly would be nervous were I to be a Calgary fan. They’ve got a decent QB in Adams, a new recruit who I believe might have a bright future in the CFL in P.J. Walker, but only one receiver of note (Begelton).

Otherwise, not much.

A classy farewell message from Kenny Lawler.

Bombers have signed Long Snapper Mike Benson to a 1 year contract.

Looks like he’s not retiring yet! This is very interesting as I spoke to Ian Lerouxs agent and he was saying Ian was getting paid Starting Long Snapper money, so Benson might have taken a discount for the opportunity to compete in camp.
