Better Numbers Than Austin, Lancaster

Wonder why it took Rider fans until the end of Lancaster's and Austin's careers to boo them out of the province?

Durant, Lancaster and Austin being compared to each other in the same sentence........

Boredom must be at an all time high in Riderville........

Which one doesn't belong there?

We didn't win a Grey Cup two years prior to Austin or Lancasters rookie years! Patience is at an all-time premium there is no doubt, but there are reasons. Did Austin or Lancaster have the opportunity to study under a league MOP(Joseph) and a playoff MOP(Crandell) for a year before their debuts? The answer is no.

Your point is well taken! Austin and Lancaster did not have the benefit of making their starting debut(s) wirh the reigning Crey Cup champions! However Lancaster had shared starting QB duties with the great Russ Jackson for three years prior to comming to Saskatchewan! Technically it should have been his first ten starts in Ottawa that Vanstone looked at. Austin was not as well prepared despite being with the ST. Louis Caardinals for sixteen games before comming to the CFL.

Actually you guys are missing something when you compare the teams.
Lancaster's first year was with an Ottawa team that won the Grey Cup during his rookie year.
Austin's first year was with a Rider team that had Narcisse, Elgaard and Fairholm and one of the best O-lines in Rider history. Oh yeah, the team won the Grey Cup the next year.

So really, their teams were at least as good if not better than the Riders this year and last year.
