depends on how big a pool you include as best. For RR, best 20 of last 25 years, yes. Best 15, probably, Best 10, I don’t think so. Best 5, not a chance.
There is currently only one quarterback on the ballot for the Hall of Fame (Dave Dickenson) I will guarantee that Ricky Ray will be in the Hall of Fame in his first year of selections. I doubt you could make that claim for 10 others.
hall of fame is usually for body of work for career. Doesn’t mean a lot as far as actually talent and ability goes. Many better people at all positions have come and gone in this league, not staying long enough to be HOF material.
Kevin Glenn will go to the Hall as well. He will get there because Drew Tate and Lulay could not stay healthy .tate and Lulay were seen as better QBs by their coaching staffs, but Glenn will be the only of the three to get into the hall....OMG FYB...we agree on something :cowboy:
How about this for a body of work. In a statistical study of all Gridiron Quarterbacks in the history of football. Ricky Ray is first in QB rating and first in passing percentage. Now this does not take into account running ability, toughness, leadership and their quality as a winner but RR excels in all.
Ray is also one of only two QB’s (Calvillo the other) to have won 3 Grey Cups apiece in the last 25 years, (winning 3 out of 4 appearances to boot) and is currently in fourth place in all-time yardage among numerous other aforementioned all-time records.
and he is still only 34 years old!
Ray’s accomplishments speak for themselves and easily deserves to be on this list.
I guess when a person dislikes someone they will use any rational to disregard facts, regardless of how irrational. Kind of like the Toronto guy with a hate on for J.C. Sherritt and thinks he’s a wimp because he didn’t play with a pin in his thumb.
Well I can't speak for the entire league, here is my personal best Ti-Cat QB's list from the last 25 yrs  in no particular order....drum roll please...........................Bobo's Top 10 List Best Cat QB's of the last 25 yrs. :thdn:
YEEESH What a scary group these guys make up,OUCH !!!!! ps: I would have included my all time fav Rocky Butler.......but he never made it out of training camp with the Cats  :cowboy:
That’s a lot of short yardage passes if he’s gone for over 5k yards for a few seasons. I have to ask why the hate for RR your not upset because the Lions have never had a QB of his caliber
I did watch those games. Punch up all the stats you like, facts are Calvillo had more shots than any other QB in the games history yet is tied with SIX other QBs for most wins as a starter. In 2000 he lost to an 8-10 team, in 2003 they lost because Calvillo produced a whopping 1 point total for 3 of the 4 quarters, in 2005 he lost because he threw 2 forward passes on the same play drawing a flag that took his team out of FG range and in 2009 he lost. Yes Montreal won the Cup, but when you talk about Calvillo’s legacy within the QB club it was a loss. The fact that the Riders can’t count gave Montreal the Grey Cup, not Calvillo. And just add some meat to his stats were there is none the gave him MVP honors for the 2002 Cup with arguably the worst performance by an MVP in Grey Cup history (11-31, 260 yds, 2 TDs).
Anthony Calvillo was a great regular season QB who would get you to the dance, but once in the playoffs he’s not the guy I would want leading my team.
Fact: the QBs FYB likes threw exclusively high-risk, low-percentage, long passes to below average receivers who fell down or took a knee after catching the ball. That’s what made them so great.
