-Veteran offensive lineman Pascal Cheron will start at right guard, as Peter Dyakowski takes over for Jerome Davis at right tackle.
-George Hudson returns to the lineup and will backup both guard positions.
Putting Dyakowski at his natural position (right tackle) is a sound move, IMHO. We need to fix both tackle spots because without the line getting its act together, Casey and co. will be scrambling for their lives as the season winds down. It is a good sign!
Oski Wee Wee,
Good point. The O line has not been up to snuff.
The really frustrating thing is that the line hasn't played up to their talent level.
and the talent level is below the waterline
But I am buoyed (;)) by the fact that Gagne-Marcoux, Dyakowski, and Hudson when healthy can ball. Hage can be inconsistent in his snapping and there are issues with his blocking reads, I believe. Either shifting G-M or a healthy Hudson to center may help get the interior line working better. Hage was a guard in college and might do better there. I see Cheron as a capable utility guy in the interior line positions.
Davis and Woodard may have played themselves off the team. They may have a couple of weeks to get it together. The value of the triggerman just went up $100K at least, so if you can't get the job done, you're gone yesterday-fast.
Oski Wee Wee,
