I feel pretty confident that the Bombers took that beating personal, and had this game circled since June 23rd.
Oline should be better (couldn’t be worse really), and with Lawler back we’ll be fielding pretty much our full offense. We’re going to test this mighty BC D.
It’s going to be a great game, and I don’t think I can wait the 50+ hours untill kickoff!
Willie & company will have to best Betts & his boys.
Betts has been a monster this season, but his best game was vs us. I do have to say I haven’t been impressed with his “taunting” smirks he gives and his hands in the air. Last game vs Edm, that last tackle was over the top aggressive and then he waved gayly goodbye to the opposing fans.
WPG can’t bite on the trolling. We’ve been uncharacteristicly taking too many penalties this year, and can’t afford to do that vs top teams. Have to stay disciplined.
Winnipeg should be looking for payback. And VA will be out. But Dane Evans did pretty good in one game against the Bombers last year.
Evans, 28, led the Tiger-Cats with 25 completions for 327 yards with five touchdown passes and zero turnovers in Hamilton’s 48-31 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Tim Hortons Field.
Bombers got stuff to prove and things to do make the hurt of the loss go away.
The question remains can they cash that check.
Certainly BC is out yo prove no they cannot.
One more preview of the west final is about all this game is about.
This rill hopefully be a great game to watch not only for tro teams fans but the whole fan base of the CFL.
With my daughter’s wedding this Saturday on our property, we’ve been as a beaver during rain season (sorry Maaax) for the past 3 months… especially in the last 4 weeks. I’ve watched all CFL the games to this point, though most a day or two later. Today the main tent goes up and the porta potties arrive leaving about a thousand details of set-up outstanding.
Today I take a stand…I will watch this game. kinda, sorta…my mind will still be working in the yard. Ugg
In one of the most anticipated rematches of the early season so far, the 6-1 Lions take on the 5-2 Bombers. When they first met in Week 3, the Lions dominated the game en route to a 30-6 win. That was the beginning of a rough two-game stretch for Winnipeg QB Zach Collaros, who graded out at 65.8 overall in Weeks 3-4 (he’s at 91.6 overall the rest of the season). The Lions will be once again starting backup QB Dane Evans, whose 88.7 passing grade so far this season trails only Collaros. Both teams will need strong play from their offensive lines, as each defense has some of the CFL’s best pass-rushers. If either defense can find an advantage here (like BC did in Week 3), it will be a long night for the opposing offense.
MATCHUP TO WATCH: RT JERMARCUS HARDRICK, WINNIPEG VS. EDGE MATHIEU BETTS, WINNIPEG
Anyone who follows the CFL knows that Betts is having a season for the ages. He’s leading the league with 39 total pressures and is on pace for a record-breaking 31 sacks (by PFF metrics). The last time these two teams played, Betts record a ridiculous four sacks and multiple more pass rush wins. Those often came at the expense of Hardrick, who finished that game with a season-low 50.4 pass-blocking grade. If you take out that game, Hardrick’s 80.9 season-long pass-blocking grade is right near the top of the CFL. He’ll be getting a chance for redemption in this one. If he can’t stop Betts again, it’ll be tough for the Bombers to get anything going on offense.
PLAYER TO WATCH: WR KENNY LAWLER, WINNIPEG
One of the biggest differences between the Bombers team that lost to the Lions earlier this season and the current team is Lawler’s return. In his first game back, Lawler recorded an impressive 70.5 receiving grade after catching seven passes for 93 yards and four first downs. He averaged 3.32 yards per route run, a mark that would rank first in the league if it qualified. Lawler is one of the best receivers in the CFL and having him back gives Collaros yet another weapon. More importantly, he gives Collaros a safety valve, someone he can force the ball to if the pressure is high and more likely than not, Lawler will come down with it.
You may have used a poor analogy. I mean, is @Maaax really that busy. Really?
Just because he’s one of the top agents organizing the Fur Coat caper including a sunken submarine, arranging parking ticket payoffs in NY city, etc, etc. How many hours in a day does he really spend contributing to these efforts?
Seriously, sending best wishes for a successful, fun-filled wedding celebration and the ability to compartmentalize your focus to enjoy the game tonight. Good luck.
Cheers!
