I’m a Tiger Cats fan, so I hope that I’m welcomed here. Anyway I read that Vernon Adams is going to be traded confirming that Nathon Rourke is the starter. What are the opinions of Lions fans on this?
They may be trading the wrong guy.
Here is the story

Maybe … but lots of players seem to have lower then expected performance when they return from the NFL in-season … so we must assume that their choice will be made based on skillsets and projected 2025 performance … the age difference may also be a factor they consider … VAJ clearly not “aging out” but Rourke obviously has a longer potential career
I can see BC offering Adams and Stanbeck to Winnipeg for Oliveria and a receiver or high draft pick.
It seems Collaros signed a three year extension in October 2022 (i.e., 2023, 2024, 2025) that includes some guaranteed money for 2025 … so unless he retires that has cap implications for the BBs were they to trade for VAJ.
BC probably isn’t going to get too much in return. Might be a draft pick. If we get a lineman out of the deal then I’d consider ourselves lucky.
Tend to agree … unless there is a flat-out bidding war, other teams know that VAJ *** HAS *** to be traded or he will be released
I wouldn’t expect it to happen until the front office and coaching jobs are settled.
I doubt anyone who isn’t going through change in the front office is much interested at the moment.
I would guess that Harris has a spot in Riderville if he wants it - but is contemplating his future in football…
Winnipeg may be buyers but they have cap space issues OR will be making significant before looking to fill a QB spot.
Edmonton is starting to look like a possible landing spot - but they have to hire a coach before moving on any player deals.
It sounds like Fajardo will be on the market as well. That may lower VAJ with respect to a trade.
I think Fajardo would be the consolation prize, not direct competition.
I wonder if the Blue Bombers would be so quick to deal a fan favorite local star. They have had at least one WPG native, and up to four in recent years, and I’m sure that helps with ticket sales as well as fan enthusiasm during the games. Andrew Harris and Geoff Grey are retired now, which leaves Brady Oliveira who is still in his 20’s, and Nic Demski, who will turn 31 in a few weeks. I hope WPG can keep both at least for another season or two. By then, maybe they can turn up another 'Pegger to cheer for.
