hah - no idea if it was planned, but what’s cool in these TSN interviews is that the double mountain-tops in the background over Buck’s and players’ right shoulder are known as “The Lions”.
these twin summits have become one of the most recognizable Vancouver landmarks. The city’s BC LionsCFL football team is also named in their honour.
The playoff game had 26, 300 attendance, not real outstanding. And vastly disappointing it was not 30,000. Calgary should have won by a slight margin but made too many key errors.
The Semi final game historically doesn’t do as well because they only have a week to sell the game to the public. It’s different if second place is wrapped up early but in this case it was not.
Changing the time to a 2:30 start also would have kept some people away. The games on Saturday during the regular season were always on at 4:00 so you’re asking your main ticket holders to change their routine.
Despite the fact that the Lions play in a dome some people would have stayed away because of the rain. People aren’t interested in getting soaked in November and then sitting in their soaked clothes for 3 hours or more depending on the commute.
If you factor all of that in then it was a decent crowd, especially since they beat Saskatchewan’s attendance in 2024.
I’m sure some preferred to stay home because of that as well. Baseball isn’t one of my favourite sports so it wasn’t on the top of my head. Also I don’t like Toronto in any sport so giving them credit for something goes against my nature.
