Auggie Retires

Auggie hangs up Ticats helmet

Tiger-Cats fullback Auggie Barrenechea is retiring.

The 32-year-old played more than 100 games over 9 seasons in the CFL with Hamilton and Edmonton.

He spent the first eight seasons of his career as a linebacker and special teams player before moving to the offensive side of the ball.

Barrenechea made 240 defensive tackles over his career, along with 52 special teams tackles, seven sacks, two forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries, and five interceptions.

He caught one pass for 38 yards last season, the lone reception of his career.

Good luck in the future Auggie!

A long and happy retirement to you Aggie, and thanks." May you live long and prosper"

Best of luck to Auggie and I truly thank him for all he did for the team and the community.

Such a class act and a great guy. All the best in your retirement Auggie.
You will be missed not only by the fans, but the ticats as well.

I am a great fan of his. I got his game-worn helmet with your signature on it. I wish he could play one more
season to go out with a GC ring and maybe deck Glenn one more time for old time sake.

Keep the Faith Pal ! Chow GOTC (Peter)

Good luck in you post-CFL career Auggie. Thank you for all your hard work, both on and off the field.

Thanks for a great career, Auggie. You deserve a very rewarding retirement.

Hope you are in good health and able to attend many Ticat games.

That STILL doesn't look right.
