44,500 is a lot to ask even in a football crazy province. I don’t think anything less than a sell out will be disappointing, but I’d like for them to be close. We got close to 40k against the Als in August, anything less than that is not good.
a - people are not as willing to sit outside for 3-4 hours in the winter…sorry, but I know lots of people who won’t do it.
b - finishing 3-9 is going to hamper ticket sales, especially in the cold.
c - maybe they should have opened up all of the seats instead of the endzone. They apparently want to sell all of the ‘bad’ seats before putting the better ones up. Hey, it’s a strategy, but one that might REALLY backfire
d - lack of lodging bites again
I don;t get why anyone is worried about the crowd. Who care............worry about the game.
If 30K showup, historically that is a great crowd and those that will be there will be loud.
Glass half full or half empty.
I too know many people not going.........and they have tickets? I think 3-9 down the stretch plays a big part of this. Sorry, but the club has to sleep in the bed they created.
It is not a failure or a slight if the Riders can't jam 40,000 in there. Be realistic. We'll have 30,000 more than the Ticats will get out in Guelph. The media needs to get off this stupid topic and talk about the game, who got scratched from roster, etc. That will sell tickets.
Hey, the pool is warm, jump in and swim. I am sure the ticket sales will pick up but if they don;t sell another seat I could care less, bring on the Lions.
The Riders didn't have over 31,000 for home playoff games in 2007, 2008, 2009 or 2010. They didn't have 44,900 seats back then, but the 2010 Western Semifinal was 1,000 short of a sellout.
It will be good sized crowd. I just tried to find tickets and singles are available on the west side, nothing on the east side. End zones still have room for 4 seats together. We will have close to 37000 to 38000 screaming fans ruining Lu-Lu's day. Or who ever they put in for target practise for Chick, Foley, brack, butts, t George .... It will be a sack feast.
Now that the season has been completed does anyone have the top say 10 attended games this season (including or not including playoffs and GC101?) I would love to find out.
