attendance guesses for bmo today

Looks like a decent preseason crowd. I bet Mosaic will be around 20k today.

I went to the first preseason game at Tempire.. Left at half time.. The place was pacjed and it was impossible to get a beer.

Announced at 16,168. Not bad for a preseason game but not great either.

That sums it up nicely.

Right on topic. Solid.

Preseason doesnt matter at all.

I saw ticketmaster looked like way more so i posted that it was possible. Sure didnt look half empty on the sit.

The fact they got 16,000 to a preseason game is actually pretty good for argos and looks really good for their regular season future. I think t will be packed all year

16,168 is more than fine for a pre-season exhibition game.

expecting a sellout for a meaningless game (featuring rookies/backups to boot) in any CFL city is unrealistic....even in the NFL.

16,168 attendance is excellent.

The 16,168 announced fans in attendance couldn’t have asked for better weather for the team’s first game at BMO, as Double Blue supporters tailgated outside before enjoying an efficient showing from Kilgore and a second-half comeback win over a hated rival.

Big difference between "announced attendance" and actual attendance. There were A LOT of no-shows if 16,000 tickets were sold.

The real test will be on the 23rd.

Over 16K for pre season is a very solid crowd considering where things were the past few years.

There will always be no shows but those will be still considered tickets sold. To put this figure into perspective.

It is more than the past 2 pre season and home opener...combined

Only 3 Argo home games in the regular season had bigger crowds. It's not far off what I expected. The future looks very bright......yes the win was good too....even pre season against the tabbies.

i was at the pre season game at varsity stadium a while back and it wasnt even sold out. 16 thou is very good imo

the RPB's are just insufferable.
over 16,000+ attended a meaningless Argos preseason game and numerous posters pounced on the club for not selling out BMO.

some quotes by posters at RPB...

- "Was at the game today, don't think anyone has to worry about a CFL renaissance."

 • "And apparently "If you build it, they will come" still doesn't work"

 • "Move them to Downsview... or Barrie."

The 16k attendance was just an estimate by someone, it wasn't announced.
According to the Toronto Sun - "No attendance was announced, but BMO Field looked half-full, and the atmosphere was lively"
"half full" would be 13,000

The Toronto Star said "where about 16,000 took in the Argos’ first-ever game at their new home" so there was no official announcement of attendance, just guesses.

You were probably the closest - the estimate was 13k from the Sun and 16k from the Star

16,168 was the announced attendance according to the recap of the game on the CFL website that Grover provided the link for earlier.

TORONTO — T.J. Heath had two interceptions and Logan Kilgore threw a touchdown pass to Vidal Hazelton, leading the Argos to a 25-16 win over the rival Ticats in their pre-season opener at BMO Field.

The 16,168 announced fans in attendance couldn’t have asked for better weather for the team’s first game at BMO, as Double Blue supporters tailgated outside before enjoying an efficient showing from Kilgore and a second-half comeback win over a hated rival.

They totally could have extended that end of the field another six yards.

Who cares about a bunch of whiny spoiled brats? NOBODY! They are pissed they couldn't prevent the Argos from playing at BMO so you know they are going to keep on pouting like little babies forever. Love it!

Thanks I Agree. BUT its NOT a meaningless GAME. It's a outing to enjoy people and the colors, game of football.
I love to go, site and watch team practices..

Yea but they would have to drill into that concrete walkway on the north end and take out a few more rows of seats at the other end!!
