attendance for todays game

Very disappointing attendance, I thought we were going to start a new tradition the Canada Day Game. No excuses about weather or start time etc

Maybe those who stayed home knew something that the ticket buyers in Hamilton didn't.....

Juts noticed last year they started on the road on Canada Day weekend, and 2009 they played at home against the Argos on Wednesday, July 1 with an attendance of 23,211.

But keep in mind, they were coming off extremely terrible seasons before going 9-9 in 2009.

Jays and Phillies drew 45,000 at Skydome yesterday, and 44,000 today.

Throw in that it was the return of “Doc” to Toronto, that is a main reason for the attendance at the Dome.

Crowds of 22, 23 and 27 on a long holiday weekend look pretty decent to me. Much as the Canada Day tie-in is nice and patriotic, I think the CFL should start the season the second week of July in the future, to avoid the exodus to cottages and campgrounds that always takes place on this weekend.

For today at least. Yesterday there were 1,000 more.

Maybe the TV numbers a large for CFL football on this weekend. Anyone know?

I thought the crowd was pretty good, especially for the long weekend. Maybe some folks here are too young to remember the days of 14,000 per game.

For a little perspective:

safetyblitz, thanks for posting that and putting it into perspective.

I guess it's a good thing if 23,890 is considered a little low nowadays,eh?
