Wheels. Have. Fallen. Off.

Zach ain’t Zach.

Too many key guys shipped outta town!

O-line prolly worst or 2nd worst in league.

FG kicker immersed in mid-season slump.

O’Shea doubting himself.

Buck Pierce being placed on sidelines.

Not enough oomph from Bomber interior d-line.

Nic Demski - bad time to do Michael J Fox impressions.

Hero Chris Streveler failed for first time 3rd and short - of course, at the very worst time.

O well. O’Shea knows what its like to be a CFL coaching hobo. His first 2 or 3 years with the Bombers were total exercises in futility.

On a positive note - and there weren’t many:

  • Red Kramdi is a total beast
  • Bomber first contact tackling has improved but still mediocre
  • Ontario Wilson had another good game despite being double-covered

this game was all about the apple turnovers that bombers served.

Last year this match would’ve been rolled out as a Grey Cup preview. Now both teams kinda stink. Even the flies are complaining.

Autopsy results will likely show that after shooting themselves in the foot one too many times the Bombers didn’t have anything left on the end of their legs to kick an overtime field goal.

Kudos to the Bomber D for a great performance all game long. Not their fault the offence turned the ball over and the kicker missed field goals.

Kudos to the Toronto D for carrying an absolutely inept offence to victory…

Shoot, it’s also their fault for not telling our crew before overtime, or I am sure one of our guys could have loaned out a peg leg if it would have made a difference.

Thank ye Captain Paolo. We be needin’ a new head for our QB as well. Have ye anything in the larder that might pass for a noggin until Zach’s is mended?

Yarrrrr. :beaver:

Kramdi balled out tonight, no doubt. Great player.

Concerned about Zach now. Seems like his concussion issues from a few years ago may be rearing their head again.

Oh well… the dynasty is dead. Time to start a new one with the young building blocks that we have.

LONG LIVE THE NEW DYNASTY (and long may it be nasty)!!!

I did find it interesting to see Buck on the sidelines, instead of in the booth. Hamilton made a similar switch last week, opting to have Washington at field level.

Over all a good weekend for the Lions on a much needed rest after that debacle against Cowtown. I would like to think all CFL fans are pulling hard for Edmonton tomorrow :beers:

Zack is reminding me of his time behind the riders o-line when he was here, too many hard hits, not good .

The good news is the Bombers put up 400 yds of offence. The bad news - 14 points, can’t close out games. The inept Argos on this night practically gave them the game by marching backwards via penalties at the end. I don’t understand the decision to gamble on 3rd down.

The Argos at least have hope Kelly will be there for the 2nd half of the season. Collaros?? 3 TD’s, 8 INT’s in 6 games. The QB’ing isn’t the whole problem but it is part of it. They’re getting beat in the trenches, way too many errors - lingering at the bottom on sacks allowed & +/-. I dunno - you may have to sit Zach & give Streveler a shot.

They let got of Dru Brown. The whole Football ops should be fired.

I think sitting Zach is about protecting his health, at this point, more than his performance. He didn’t fumble multiple times, and his pick-six was 100% not on him (tipped twice). He didn’t miss makeable field goals.

I think the entire Bomber offence needs a refresher on ball security. Demski in particular.

The Argos are more than inept on offence, they are incompetent. Something needs to be done by the coaches. I’m afraid Cam Dukes just can’t get the job done. He was great for three games, but has come down to earth. I’m not optimistic about Arbuckle either, but he should be handed the reins until Kelly gets back and Brian Scott needs to be groomed as backup to Arbuckle. If a QB can’t throw downfield for any distance and can’t trusted to run a QB sneak without being stopped or fumbling he shouldn’t be playing. And welcome back Tavarus McFadden. The team sorely missed you.

I don’t think they should be fired, but letting Brown walk and signing a running back masquerading as a quarterback (Streveler) to replace him – at over market price, to boot – hasn’t aged well.

The Jury is in on Dru brown who BTW is 4-1 against Western opponents.

I didn’t argue that, though. I agree that letting him walk was, in hindsight, a mistake. Especially given Collaros’s age and injury history. But that’s a long way from saying Winnipeg football ops should be fired.

How do you justify playing Arbuckle after his abject incompetence tonight? He threw for 87 yards in over 45 minutes of football. That’s like two or three pass plays worth of yardage for a QB who actually knows what he’s doing. Arbuckle has been around the league for years now. What he showed tonight was unacceptable for a veteran QB. And he’s a statue to boot, so he’s not even a threat on the ground.

I think Dinwiddie should go back to Dukes and call games to suit his strengths. Not the clustereff from tonight. Get some designed QB runs to the outside going, use some screens and jet formations. Change the launch-point on certain plays. The playcalling tonight was static, lazy, and predictable.
