Argos sign former TiCat Jonathan Hood

Good luck Jon. (except vs the Cats of course)

The Toronto Argonauts have bolstered their defence, adding free agent defensive back Jonathan Hood as well as signing import linebacker Darry Beckwith.

Hood, a Mississauga native, has spent the last three seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He recorded 38 special teams tackles with the Ticats including a season-high 22 in 2011.

“It is still surreal to me that I am going to be a Toronto Argonaut,” Hood said via a team release. “I used to watch Argos practice all the time and they used to come to my high school and play basketball against us. Now I get to put on those iconic colours and be part of everything good the organization stands for. I am truly privileged to sign with my hometown team, and I intend to honour the tradition that comes with wearing Double Blue.”

Hood was originally drafted by the Edmonton Eskimos in the fourth round (26th overall) of the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft.

I am at a loss to understand what he could possibly be referring to...

He obviously didn't like being in the more vibrant Black and Gold colours preferring the dull blue ones.....

It makes me sad to see any of our former players go over to the dark side. JOnathan is a great guy, though so I wish him all the personal success in the world (just no ream success)

And two days later, they've got another one:

Let him go he's nothing if he wants to play for those guys.
