Was hoping this wasn’t true.

Ben Grant offers some insight into the situation;

Wow! Cap issues?

Rasheed you are welcome back in Winnipeg!

From an outsider pov, quite a surprise to see Bailey released. I hope he lands with another team. He’s one of the game’s good guys.

I wonder if this is shedding cap in anticipation of the Sexual Harasser’s return? Either way, yeah, he’d look good back in Winnipeg for sure.

It’s very strange for sure. We also know he loves Winnipeg and took less last year to stay there. Winnipeg should be able to pay him as Lawler and Schoen being 6 gamed would free lots of cap space.

Note to Argos: I think you should release Janarion Grant next!

C’mon Big Blue go get him. We need him.

If only!!

Pure discrimination ! They are required to have a couple of Canadian players on the roster, so they get rid of their lead receiver because he is American - DEI sucks !

The evil ratio strikes again! No need to field the best possible team. Sigh.

Well considering he technically started out in Hamilton me thinks he would look wonderful in black ‘n’ gold . :sunglasses:

Like it or not, it’s all part of the game. Rasheed will not be un-employed for long.

If Kyle GM Walters isn’t on Bailey like a dog on a proverbial bone there’s something wrong. My guess, and its only a guess - is that O’Shea likes (Loyola O’Shea) his current crop of no-stats rookie WRs.
Look, Lucky Whitehead only has a a half an inch tread left on his tires, Schoen is out for the season, Lawler might be back in 2 to 4 games but DON’T LOOK AN F’N GIFT HORSE IN THE MOUTH kyle, stand up and be counted.

Unless of course the Bombers are writing this season off already and planning their comeback for 2025. Insult to the fans imho.

I think Hamilton is the likely destination for Rasheed to pack his bags and reserve his hotel room. Bo-Levi has now become a far more efficient ball-distributor than laborious Zach Collaros. Bailey would be of mild service in Wpg and disrupt our cap - so off to Hammy he goes.

As much as I’d like to see Rasheed Bailey back in a Blue Bomber uniform realistically he wouldn’t be a starter here for long. Career-wise he’d be better off in Hamilton. Rookie Ontaria Wilson is downfield dynamite and once he’s paired up with soon-to-return speedster Kenny Lawler we’d have to demote Rasheed to the practice roster where he’d go into waiting mode alongside fellow 30-something receiver Lucky Whitehead.

Actually I was referring to Janarion Grant when I posted that comment . Nonetheless though I was pushing for the Cats to sign Bailey in FA and was pissed when the Anchors got him instead, therefore I would absolutely love to see Rasheed B in the Hammer . :sunglasses:

My bad. Your GM would be nuts not to go after an special teams weapon like Janarion Grant if the Argos inexplicably released him. Stranger things have happened.

Rasheed Bailey AND Grant have shown that they’ve both got plenty of gas left in their tanks. But they’re both 30 and that’s the magic number Kyle Walters was probably looking at when he mistakenly decided to let both of them walk. Hindsight is 20/20. Right now he’d probably take Janarion back in a heartbeat given the opportunity… which he probably won’t get.

What would Orlondo Steinauer give up to bring the best kick returner in the league to Hamilton?

Just putting it out there… Toronto MIGHT want you guys to part with Bo Levi Mitchell in exchange for a multi-player swap that could include Cameron Dukes and Janarion Grant if they can’t get Chad Kelly off his suspension anytime soon. :beaver:

The Tiger-Cats already have the receivers they want and the Cats go with two Canadian receivers. There is no interest, whatsoever, for a receiver in the great city of Hamilton.

There will be plenty of room for Bailey in the Bomber’s starting line-up after Dalton Schoen goes down with another season-ending injury in the first game of next season…and the season after that.

Well the Bombers have room on the CAP with Schoen on the IR all year & Kenny likely there for at least 6 games so his salary won’t count. But with Wilson, 24, Wheatfall, 25, & Whitehead now also on the team, where does Bailey fit in?? Are you going to continue to develop the younger players like 2 of the 3 “W’s” above & Alston, Mitchell & Murphy on the roster as well? Or are you going to start loading up older players like Whitehead & Bailey?? Argos nailed it - go with younger guys. Demski, Lawler/ Schoen & Bailey didn’t take them to GC’s the past 2 years. Gotta change it up.

I think Bailey will have some offers. I’m not sure the Bombers are going to be one of them though I would drop Whitehead for Bailey but what are the optics here? Next year the Cup’s in Wpg & likely more changes are coming.

The D, specifically the DL, are worst vs the rush by a good margin & can’t put pressure on the QB, with about 1 sack/game to their credit. That’s an issue that is more pressing.
