Well I’m eating crow tonight but doing so happily because my Argos won and I didn’t expect it. The games against Hamilton and Ottawa, especially that choke job last week, left a bitter taste in my mouth and it looked to me like this club was going down for the count in the wake of all the adversity the team has faced from off season defections, to Kelly’s suspension, to the epidemic of injuries to key players, questionable coaching decisions etc. Anyway, Argos totally confounded me with their dominant performance against the Lions. I just can’t figure this team out. But they showed if they can get more injured players back in the lineup like McManus and Brinkman and a few others, maybe, just maybe they can be a threat again. Now for heaven’s sake, don’t go and lose to Hamilton next week.

Like yourself and many others, didn’t expect this game to go in Toronto’s favor but full credit to them, as they played an outstanding game. I’m sure, as a Argo’s fan it was a pleasant surprise for you. It was also a pleasant surprise for all us Blue Bomber fans as it gives us just a little better chance of winning the West. I had to laugh with regards to your comment about not being able to figure your team out, seems like there have been many games this year that were so unpredictable and should make for some great games down the home stretch and into the playoffs.

The QBs are often criticized when the offence is poor. Really, it’s OC Jordan Macsymic is responsible for the offence. Early on, he came up with good game plans but other teams defences have adjusted. Macsymic doesn’t seem to be able to redesign the offence and he just doesn’t know what to do. Most of the best OCs were former QBs, perhaps because as players they would often havecto make adjustments on the fly.

Way back when I first became an Argo fan in 1961, they were losing and finishing last every year (until 1967 when Cahill came in) so I found another team to root for and that was Winnipeg. I was a big fan of Bud Grant, Kenny Ploen and Leo Lewis, among others and I always rooted for them in the Grey Cup, especially against Hamilton.

1St I want to congratulate the Argos on defeating the Lions. But I really figure it was the Lions who lost the game ,not that the Argos really played so great. Yes the Argos played well, but not that great. Had the Lions come to play their game the results COULD HAVE , but WERE NOT different. Just letting the Argos know they really shouldn’t take that victory to seriously. I’m not a fan of either team so take that advice as what ever.
