Can’t figure this one out unless Argos expect to lose Kadeem Carey. I hope they don’t as Carey proved valuable and ideally should be resigned.

I thought he was Edmonton property until February

I believe he ended the season on the Elks Practice Roster so he was a FA at the end of the season.

Mark Kilam was a player’s coach when Carey was with Calgary and he is now the HC in Edmonton so I could see it happening.

Younger and cheaper than Carey who took a lesser prove it deal last season after battling injuries and obviously wants and deserves a raise.

Edmonton potentially has Rankin and Leake. Why waste money on Carey?

yep and I just saw that Leake signed an extension with the Elks too so that theory is probably dead on arrival.

Wonder where he ends up. BC potentially?

Exactly, and would it be neat if both Leake and Ranklin get into the offensive backfield for some of the plays. Imagine the speed of Ford, Leake, Rankin, Jones, Mitchell!

Indeed! Fun to watch the Elks yet I’m a fan of a different team. Next year, I’m thinking the Elks are in the playoffs. Just too good of a team not to make the playoffs.

Perhaps Ottawa. The RedBlacks had somewhat of a sketchy run game.

Good signing for both teams. With Leake re-upped & Rankin Elks are set & Ford is also a threat. Brown should be a good pickup for Toronto. With McMahon & Adeboboye they would have a very good, young trio. Top 2 rushing teams last year & they look loaded again. :smirk:

That would be overkill. No need to spend more money on a RB. Those $$$ are better spent elsewhere. They have 5 players in the top 21 & they likely want to sign the 3 still on there. :neutral_face:

…highest on my Christmas list would be to get the O-Line players on the list signed. Those are the guys that make that run game possible…

Elks need both, Leake had injury last season. And the season is very long, lots of pounding and when November cold arrive, RBs are banged up. I am curious what will happen to the FB. Elks will still use OL guy in the FB role, or back to normal FB?

it’s funny how the Argos let all of these good players walk every year are you telling me that Hamilton Ottawa Edmonton and Saskatchewan can take these players away from the Argos and pay them what they worth and the Argos can’t do it? And the players they let walk is fan favorites don’t they think about the fans ? every year it’s a new team, if they continue to do this it will come a time when they want get back to grey cup for a very long time.
