Argos come out on top over Elks in high-scoring matchup after game-winning kick

TORONTO — McLeod Bethel Thompson did a lot of winning when he was a Toronto Argonaut. Returning to the city he brought two Grey Cups to, the now Edmonton Elks pivot couldn’t find another win at BMO Field on Saturday night as the Argos won a high-scoring, back-and-forth contest 39-36 through a game-winning field goal.

Congrats to the Argos on a tight win. Dukes is a real QB and has more than proven himself
When are the Elks going to get a real GM / HC ? Chris Jones just isn’t getting it done since he re-arrived in Edmonton. I don’t like Edmonton, them being the Stamp’s historical Rival, however I do feel the Elks could be more productive than they have been for 4 + years. The League benefits when the teams are closely matched. Jones has purchased the talent so why are they still losing?

By far the game of the week and game of the month! Quite possibly a contender for game of the year.

Absolutely riveting from start to finish!

Good game, but I don’t know why “offensive duel” is always equated with “exciting game.” I honestly think the BC-WPG game was better entertainment value this week despite neither team hitting 30 points. It was a slugfest with multiple lead changes and the outcome not decided until the final seconds of the game.

Yeah, that was a really good game with lots of scoring. MBT looks to be improving week to week. If they could get a run game I think they can make some noise. I was surprised that the young D got to that Argo OL for 3 sacks - probably should have been more.:grinning:

edmonton again appears to be in the crapper. can’t afford to fire and replace Jones
