Some of these declines were never serious candidates in the first place.
Why would Steinhauer leave a VP of Football Ops for a Head Coach?
Why would Mace do a lateral move?

They wouldnât offer him anything unless it came as a lateral move and added an additional role.
All seems quiet on the Jones front. He likes to do it all. Did i miss some news there?
They sure are tossing lines into every pool. Wouldnât surprise me if they landed an assistant from somewhere.

The only ones who really declined the job was OâShea because he had an offer in Winnipeg, he wasnât going anywhere. The other was Steinhauer but he wasnât realistically leaving for a HC role.
In that article it says the Argos didnât even reach for Mace. He wasnât going anywhere for lateral move anywhere.
Theyâve been too busy conducting interviews internally to try and poach anyone as of late.

Iâd put Caleb Elliott in the mix. He looks like someone who would support Chad.
Even the Argos arenât arrogant enough to make that offer (unless Steinhauer is on THIN-ice in Hamilton and it is widely known inside the CFL) ⌠I expect he was getting a dual Management-HC offer.
What I found interesting was manadaniâs evaluation of the Argos situation:
âThey have not had a scouting department, they have not had a player personnel department for three years ⌠Guys keep leaving. [Vince Magri ] left at the beginning of training camp in 2024, not replaced, went to the Buffalo Bills, and itâs now caught up with them. Argos are owned by Rogers, which (IMO) has no real interest in spending money on them ⌠so I wonder whether the team gets the budget to rebuild the front office until they get new owners ⌠if Madani is right, can we expect anybody with options (immediate or near term) would be interested?

Rogers became the majority owners of MLSE this year, according to the article the scouting department has been thin for about 3 years so itâs be going on before that. So it doesnât look like a Rogers thing nor are they planning on selling the team.
I wonder how much Pinball and maybe Murphy makes. I could they their salary eating up the ops cap space.

Not to mention Jarious Jackson, Demetrios Maxie and a few others who are currently unemployed, and nobody has to say if they interviewed.

Didnât say Rogers was the CAUSE, rather that I doubt they have any plans to spend money to fix it
They didnât mention any as to why those positions were not replaced.
Considering it happened before Rogers became the majority owners, I doubt it has anything to do with any massive cost savings measure.
How much is the ops cap? Less than 4 million? Thereâs not much room to cut anything.
Only if I can meet that strength coach though for some âpersonal trainingâ. You know, before I actually sign on the dotted line sort of thing.
