I figured since Free Agency has dried up, it would be worth it to start a 2025 thread for the Argos.
Here is a rough draft of our 2025 depth chart created by Nick Small over on Twitter;
The obvious weaknesses are SAM Linebacker and Field Halfback on the defensive side, but other than that, I’m feeling pretty good about the lineup.
We made a lot of changes last year and won the grey cup with out our starting QB , we will have to do it again. Hopefully this time Chadwick makes it to the Grey Cup
Regarding SAM LB, I think the team will depend on Quincy Mauger who will be returning after an injury forced him to sit out for most of 2024.
Probably fairly close to the way things will line up in training camp. If healthy I can’t see Nicastro as a back up. Mauger is a good sam linebacker and Rutledge has some experience there from his Winnipeg days. Bratton should be in the mix at DHB after a couple years with Edmonton. Another veteran signed at DE Brian Cox should be in the mix as well. With the short training camps teams need veterans to start with at least. The DL was looking very green for a while but by adding Cox, Lanier, Christmas and Haba that gives the defense some veteran presence while the rookies learn the CFL game.
