Please search high and low for a running back
A diamond in the ruff is Xander Horvath who plays for BC. I don’t know what his contract is , but If I were the Argos I would take a run at him.
I wouldn’t mind seeing them birng in Eno Benjamin either.
“MY MAMMA TOLD ME! You better shop around…”
I would think Hovath is signed for 2026 on his option year. Big strong RB. That’s the kind of Back I would like to see as one of the two Argos RB’s on game day.
Guess what Argos? Dedrick Mills is a free agent and if any team needs a running back it’s you.
I forgot to mention Brady Oliveira. I believe he is a free agent.
Well from needed a running back we now need a new head coach with Dinwiddie heading to Ottawa.
I do wonder if there was friction between him and Kelly.
Bring Doug Flutie as head coach
I was just thinking about this! The chair is certainly open though he’s not my choice.
I’d like to see someone promoted from within, preferably Mickey Donovan.
Not sure I want osh.
The Argos suffer from being irrelevant in Toronto. It’s not about winning. We have won a couple of Grey Cups recently and it has done nothing for attendance. Toronto needs a name, and Doug Flutie is a name. Torontonians like him and he played for the Argos. Now people will say he has no coaching experience, but neither did Pinball Clemons and he won a Grey Cup. All the grunt work is done by the Offensive coach, Defensive coach and Special teams coach. Flutie has played enough that he knows the CFL game.
I know. But attendence didn’t move much when he was playing here and dominating the league.
He has a media background. I think he would be good in a brand ambassador type role
Watch Arbuckle may follow
He has a higher profile than any other coach they would get. I think he would move the needle enough to give the Argos a little more relevance
Internally, it feels like Costanza, Eiben, and Shivers could all be viable. The advantage of elevating Costanza to HC is that the disruption to the offence would presumably be minimal, since Costanza, I imagine, would run more or less what Dinwiddie was running, with some variation. Mike Miller could step into the pass game coordinator role as a result.
Shivers has lots of experience and could be an option. Eiben is intriguing but is still getting his feet wet at the coordinator level, so it may be too soon.
