Im going to play street psychologist for a second., is it my imagination or does Kelly look very uncomfortable doing interviews.
Iām glad they rested a bunch of guys, you donāt need any injuries going into the playoffs. Codie was injured, letās hope he can play.
Hereās the post-game presser with Arbuckle and Dinwiddie;
How can you not cheer for Nick Arbuckle! I am fully on the hype train. Arbuckle will get us a GC win!
PS; Bring in Bryan Scott!
There is understandably a lot of anti-Argos sentiment for next week, but I just donāt feel that way now that the immediate past is the past at least for the Grey Cup.
Thereās a whole off-season to sort out and fix all the organizational shortcomings to say the least.
Maybe I am in the minority, but as a fan I want a good game quite simply and can suspend the reality of the business of the CFL for a week.
As goes the Grey Cup, so shines Canada too eh?
I hope for a close game, with Chad not playing Iām guessing that the Argos lose, but youe never know.
Itās up to the defence .
And Special Teams!
Well it would seem an obvious point after last night, for we can see that the Bombers have great vulnerabilities on special teams and far more than I ever knew.
The Argos have better overall special teams at the very least.
And no, Iām not just saying that because the Bombers let a punter run like a church lady on what turned out to be an audible and calling his own number,
for a first down on a fake punt,
with the Bombersā defender even going full face-plant splat even after having a full and clear shot to absolutely clobber that punter for trying such Sunday morning antics on Saturday night.
Cāmon now, this is the CFL and not the Church League on special teams people!
And Arrrrrrrbuckle!
Still what a turn of events for a guy whoās career was thought to be over in the off season
Yea, what a weird career trajectory for sure. He was traded from Toronto to Edmonton back in 2021 for the rights to Chad Kelly, then bounced around, and now heās back in Toronto replacing Kelly in the Grey Cup!
How crazy would it be if he found a way to win it?!
I could be a GM
Canāt be any worse than Dolegala!
WHO? Oh well the persistent hopes of all those others weāve been hearing about all season have been dashed again!
They better sign Coxie. He and Kelly go hand in hand. Kellyās style of throwing long bombs , needs a receiver that can high point the ball and Coxie is one of the best. Also they need to sign McManus.Will these guys test the NFL market, we shall see.
Also;
Wonāt be replacing Guillemette but the Argos often carry a backup LS on the PS in case of injury. Chaves didnāt do that great in his Week 19 showing but has shown promise during the preseason. Only 26 and can become a solid backup for us or trade fodder for an extra pick next season.
I donāt think heāll be fighting for the starting spot in 2025 but heās apparently only 25 years old and has done pretty well in preseason action. Heās 14/16 across his entire stat sheet. Iām always happy to have a backup whoās played in a game before. Good signing!
Letās get McManus signed and Coxie. We, Kelly needs Coxie to high point those long bomb throws. He is the best at that.
Yet another backup special teamer signedābut this one carries some weight. With John Haggerty set to hit free agency if a deal isnāt reached, Jeremy Edwards might actually have a real shot at becoming the starter, depending on how things shake out over the holiday season.
Edwards punted 7 times in the preseason, averaging 43.4 yards and 38.7 net yards per punt. While he didnāt have any punts over 50 yards, his hang time was solid, limiting returns to just 5 yards on average. He also dropped 2 punts inside the 20, including one inside the 10. No Rouges or out-of-bounds penalties, eitherāhis directional punting looks to be his strong suit, which is typical for young Australian punters.
Itās a good signing, but hereās hoping we see John Haggerty on the transaction list soon. He was a Top 2 punter in 2024.
