Dont know why they were released but does make sense why Ticats signed Marion when a DL they drafted is dealing with a injury and when special teams besides woods & punter didnt play good vs calgary
Weāll have to see where Oakman ends up. If I were a TiCat fan I would be pretty happy with the Marion signing. Good Special Teams player.
I dont mind the Marion signing and i had a postive interaction with him on Instagram dms yesterday, the fact two of my fave National DE were released by the ticats after pre season is still making me be annoyed with management & coaches though.I Will still support some players i care about on the team though .
Whatās going on. Another Argo snatched by Hamilton. I thought Knight had established himself in the DL rotation. Were the Argos caught off guard or did they know this was going to happen. I notice the Argos had brought one of this years draft picks, Tyson Hergott, onto the game roster so I guess he can rotate with Canadian Rob Smith. I thought the Argos young CBās were exposed a bit by Montreal receivers so we see Nationalized American Jonathan Edouard starting at CB and Leonard Johnson banished to the practice roster. They are still trying to find replacements for Peters and Stiggers back there it seems. Also Canadian Fraser Sopik starts at the Will LB spot ahead of Jonathan Jones. This current defense is starting to look a little ordinary. Getting DE Orimolade back will help, theyāre not the same without him.
I saw Haggerty go down on the field grasping his right ankle while reviewing ST film this week. Hopefully, he will make a full recovery!
If he cannot play, for whatever reason, I would hope that the Argos would elevate Global Punter Jeremy Edwards from the PS. He averaged 43.4 yards and 38.7 net yards across 7 punts in preseason. He had 2 punts (29%) remain inside the 20YL and did a good job with ball placement, limiting the number of the number of return yards available.
I do NOT want to see Lirim Hajrullahu handle punting duties. In the 2023 USFL (Spring Football) Season he handled punting for the Philadelphia Stars and averaged 39.9 yards and 32.2 net yards over 13 attempts. He was below league-average in just about every statistical category and he only had 13% of his punts travel 50 yards.
ALS fans are saying they lost because Fajardo got injured and had to use the second string QB , which is true. News flash the Argos are also playing with their second string QB.
Dukes has had way more reps.
Heās not a raw rookie. Heās been in the league longer and started some games in Ottawa
Didnāt say he was a raw rookie. It takes a while for a qb to get into rhythm. For example. Zach Collaros didnāt play in the pre-season and itās taken him a while to get into rhythm. Caleb Evans has been sitting on the bench or using a clipboard for most of this season. Dukes has been playing for 5 weeks. Big difference.
No doubt there is a difference though both teams had significant injuries before that game ā¦Als no doubt should of tried to use Tyson Philpot more when he is a stud WR
What are the odds he signs with the Bombers and makes us look foolish
That was a little surprising to see Bailey released. At first thought I canāt see it being just performance related. Does the fact Mital is coming back they feel they have a Canadian who can do a lot of things Bailey did but as of now he would be cheaper on a rookie contract. Their top pick from last yearās Canadian draft, Wayne has ben released by Houston and maybe he will become available in the picture also. Big receiver like Bailey. The two other guys Person and Dennis were also released I imagine because of performance or lack of it. The Argos appear to be still searching for players to replace Peters and Stiggers. Thatās not going to be easy as the defensive backfield has really taken a step back after losing those two guys. I guess Mcfadden is at least a known performer for them even if he isnāt as good.
PS on Bailey. I wouldnāt be surprised he didnāt make his way down the QEW where they could use some receiver help.
Another release out of the blue of blocking FB/TE Albert Awachie and quickly picked up back to the Riders where he spent several years. How convenient. Patterson needed some extra protection with so many injuries to their OL. I guess. I would like to see what Adeboboye or Mital could do at the so called FB spot. They could at lease get some YAK yards from some dump passes once in a while. So Arbuckle gets the start tomorrow night in what could be a soggy playing field. Game number nine. Cam Dukes has had some good experience so far and will probably be the #2 guy when Kelly comes back, but he has really been getting gun shy holding onto the ball too long. I was counting 7 and 8 steam boats last game which is a recipe for disaster in pro ball. Time for a break and watch for a while maybe. So it will between Arbuckle and Scott as who will be the odd man out I would think, unless Dukes is injured more than we know. We wonāt know until game time apparently if he can go this week. This could be a good test for the soccer pitch at BMO with all the rain forecast.
Any news on Kelly ?
Yes . Heās still a jerk who thinks heās living in the 1950s .
That I know, but have you heard anything about his return
Check all the psych wards in the area .
Be nice
Obviously Iām not an Argo fan but last nightās game highlights the Argo Defense . CFL games have been very exciting this year . The Argo QBs are just fine . They donāt need the Nephew .
