Well we can confirm that the Argos have 3 back up QB’s. But with the first team offense and their good defense I think they can be a 500 ball club until Kelly can get back. Dukes looks like he will be the starter mainly IMO because he can run the ball better than the other two. WR Marshall, RB Laborn, DE Parrish, DB’s Steele and Dennis OT’s Lee or Amoah could be some of the new American they keep around. On the Canadian side WR Mital should crack the lineup and I don’t know how they can keep WR Sandani out of the lineup.

It’s good to be a long season

The Argos have signed Return Specialist Janarion Grant!

I love this signing. They replace Leake with a proven star. Immediate upgrade over everyone else they had returning kicks.

Can’t go wrong with adding in another LS.

Blaise was in Ottawa competing with Tanner Doll last season but didn’t win the competition.

The Argonauts know more than other teams just how important it is to have a capable backup that your guys are familiar with. I expect if anything ever happens to Guillemette we’ll see Barber signed to the team.

I know Blaise personally cause of him being a mcmaster alumni and from Hamilton

Looks like Blaise is the guy moving forward. Just got a response from Adam Guillemette’s mom and it looks like he’ll miss time with a broken toe :frowning:

Not too many surprises on the final roster. Leonard Johnson came in and beat out veteran McFadden at CB it appears. #3 QB Bryan Scott looked better playing behind the starting offensive line but hopefully rookie QB John Machota will be kept around to learn and develop. MLB Issac Darkangelo showed he can play if needed. Looks like a good veteran ball club except at QB. Excited to see how they use Mitel as he looks like he can play different roles. Just an all round good player. So Bring on the Lions.

I can’t seem to find the post anymore but I’m 95% certain I just saw a post welcoming Machota back.

Well maybe they will let Machota go home and keep his phone handy. He went to a NFL mini camp with probably no chance of sticking instead of being in the Argo camp from the get go. But every young American football player dreams of playing and making the big bucks in the NFL, so they have to get that out of their system first. But I would be disappointed if he doesn’t get a longer look based on his College stats and he didn’t look out of place with only a few reps in practice. I think it is safe to say none of the three QB’s on the roster will win the MVP award. What was it former Maple Leaf Coach Randy said about his goalie’s play, “he was just ok”. That’s what I keep thinking about the Argo QB’s when they start playing for real. But we will see. They have a very good OL and good receivers.

yes but in the CFL you cannot win unless you have a solid QB. Just look at every Argos team that has won a Cup for the last 50years.

Cameron played well tonight. He is proving to be an accurate passer when he has the time, which he did most of the time. He’ll get better. Experience is the great teacher. Entertaining game. Argo DL and McManis turned it up a notch in the 4th and BC didn’t have an answer.

OLine is to thank tonight.

Kept Dukes upright and made space for the runningbacks.

Dukes played well, let’s see where he is by the fifth game when defence coordinator has more film on him and learn his tendencies.

Another great game…if they could add 4 more minutes, we may have seen 2 more lead changes. Congratulations Argos.

Oakman and Marion gone from the Argo DLine. After watching the BC/Tor game the other night I’m not surprised. Rookie Williams looked good rotating at DT and they have two young Canadian players in Knight and Hergott in place of Marion. Always tough to see older players moved out but its the nature of the beast. They both could be picked up else where

I wonder why they were released and not traded…

Maybe they weren’t happy with their playing time and wanted out.
