We had a portable Compaq something like this once up on a time. IIRC, I did some high school essay on it.

I had completely forgotten that I had one of these Coleco thingies as well. I used it a lot. Can’t remember what happened to it.

Kudos to you FYB. For someone who often posts about not using modern technology and not having a smartphone I’m surprised that you had an early computer when I was still using a Smith Corona electric typewriter I bought in Grade 6 from my paper route money for essays.

what's hilarious is if you watch any of Dave Naylor's video segments during the CFL season (dropping back or whatever it's called) there is one on the shelf behind him.

Yup - HP bought them, and continued on making terrible PC's.

Interesting to that the toy giant (at the time) Mattel built the Intelivision and it launched a new business for them that is far far more profitable.....

Intimidated by technology at one point when young and still at times whenever I hear "software upgrade!" or "new app!" and worst of all, "revamped website!",

I held out when seeing one of those bland monochrome screen Macs when starting college and had a Brother word processor.

Anyway, using PCs before for e-mail on campus and by the end of my junior year, I skipped the Mac back then and went right over to a PC with DOS and Windows 3.1 and never looked back until Microsoft launched Vista and pooped the bed with that bloated piece of steaming hot bathroom code!

This was early 1990s when it was still not the norm for most students to use a PC and so many using those Macs!

I had one of those even in high school even in the late 1980s that I simply took over from my mom! And it was still pica type not the newer selectric style back then!
