Is anyone else feeling this right now?

With the Ticats missing the playoffs, I just can’t seem to feel any excitement or interest in the playoffs.

Maybe it’s the season’s results, maybe it’s the Autumn season, maybe it’s general ennui since our terrible start.

Maybe it’s also the death of my 15-year-old-dog on Hallowe’en morning.

About the only thing I want to see is the blew team with their predatory QB get knowcked out of the playoffs, but I honestly don’t give a darn who wins in the West of the GC, as long as it isn’t that team down the QEW.

Let’s face facts - the level of football in this League had been decreasing over the past few years. Some if that can be the different Spring football leagues luring American players to play closer to home (but in front of empty stadia). Some of it is a decrease in QUALITY Canadian players entering the League, some of it is better defensive strategies.

But it all adds-up to poor quality football. For crying out loud, BLM had the first 5000-yd season since 2018. It wasn’t all that long ago when there were multiple QBs reaching that mark each season.

So I ask again - is anyone else feeling similar?

I’m from Waterloo and a Laurier Alumni. I’m also friends with a couple of the Laurier coaches , so Im enjoying OUA football over the last month, including today’s Yates Cup win.
So I’ve been able to “fill my cup” so to speak.
In terms of the CFL, I’m still watching and rooting for any team except Toronto.
I do miss home playoff games though. Since they moved them to Saturday ( ideal for me) , we haven’t had one in Hamilton.

apathy yes, for different reasons.

I have been surprised at myself for how low my interest has been all season. First time in 58 yrs that I willingly didnt watch a whole playoff game. Just caught the last 8 minutes.

I have seen so many favorite and exciting players come and go and I dont have any of them left.

I guess NFL has taken over my interest. Never believed that could happen until recently.

I didnt want either Maas nor Kelly to win today. With Kelly out, I am glad Toronto won.

I usually enjoy the Grey Cup every year, no matter who’s playing. The Eastern Semi was a good game today.

Seeing the blew team get to the Cup again is a bit of a gut punch… it’s just not that hard to get to the Cup - except for the TiCats.

Sorry about your dog. 15 years old is amazing. I have a four year old dog and the thought of losing her is too much. Hang in there.

Tiger Cat football in the past few years has lost it’s luster. The Blew team and Bummers have found the recipe that produces high quality teams. 2025 will be a pivotal year for the Tiger Cats and Milanovich. I suspect he will be very active in the off season. If not, expect the same.

Yes.

For the first time in I don’t know how many years, I did not watch even a minute of either the East or the West final.

Didn’t miss it either.

Didn’t miss much. One game was a total blowout and the other had one team playing like Keystone cops.

My apathy has little to do with the Ti-Cats record.

TV announcers talking about themselves more than the game
Back to back games against the same team
Unlikable “stars” in the league

The list could go on and on. The CFL and TSN are their own worst enemy and I’m tired of pretending that’s not true.

If we have a good start in 2025, even 3-3, any bit of apathy I have will be gone quick.
I gave up my season seats this year, but still went to 4 games ( all loses,… I’m a curse).
