Anybody surprised?

This might be a good thing. BC exposed where we need work in the secondary.

ALs exposed our inability to adapt to an unknown QB.

Elks showed our run defence needs a tuneup.

The first few wins showed that we need to win the turnover battle in a big way to come out on top. This team is a new group and a work in progress. Think it’s a good thing, even great that we are 5-3 at this point and know where we need to do the work before the playoffs.

The future looks good folks.

I think you have a defensive Coach which is great but the defense still have issues up the middle again. They are giving up too many yards and big plays.

Got some stuff to fix for sure

Interesting posts, but the big picture, somehow, got obscured. There really isn’t much wrong that needs fixing. 11 guys on the 6-game, Thor and Brammer on one-game, but will need more. There isn’t much that separates winning from losing. Look at what injuries, and attrition, did to the BB. It was so bad against the EE that Micah had to play O too. Nobody should expect “2nd-stringers” to be as good as the guys they replace. The sky is not falling…when our MASH unit more, or less, empties, we will be in good shape.

Yes we have quite the mash unit but… we still needed to win the turnover battle in a big way early on when we were healthier.

Lots of new players, new coaching. We need gel time. Fortunately we are getting a good look at our depth and seems to be very promising.

Not an expert like most aren’t but i do still have concerns. We seem to have the makings of a good zone defence but what about man?

I think the only way they win is to out score the other team, because the defence seems to have trouble stopping the intermediate passes ,

Seems, obvious on the surface. Do you mean offence or the team as a whole?

Yes and the team with the most points will win :grinning:

Yes offensively

That is funny

Even if they use drones

You mean you have to score points to win, I thought you could just let the command centre pick whoever they want to win, win.

we play a lot of zone, cover 1 or cover 2, depending on the situation. And we have good cover guys. Overall our D is first class. OUr multiple injuries not withstanding, we had only one hiccup when Tre entered the game. Not worried about D, now if the O can kick it up with Trevor back, a number of teams will get caught in our slipstream…tumbling violently. Good test Friday.
BTW, correct me if I am wrong, but I believe we have the best takeaway/giveaway numbers in the league.

Have never questioned our zone defence. It is first rate. Do wonder if we have a lock down DB or two that we can use within that system to shut down a specific player or two when needed.

As for our +/- we have done well when we win that stat. I would like to do well when we don’t. Really hate having to rely on turnovers that may or may not come.

Should clarify that. The secondary is playing better than I expected given how new the group is. They need time to learn how to communicate effectively in zone. What i do question is their ability to transition to man effectively mid play. How often do you hear the expressions “blanket coverage” or “like a second skin”?

Why are the riders constantly having so many injuries, is it a lot of precaution, or just bad luck, training procedures or bad luck. ?
