you've still got 2 more spots left on the PR there man.

and i wouldnt be surprised to see Guillory get cut, with Hickman playing so well, and Mcintyre was generating some pressure as well,

Guillory has done nothing in 2 games.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Boltus on the PR. Is there any reason we shouldn't keep him around to develop further on the PR?

yeah my list is nor complete as i dont know if they will go with 3 import linebacker or 4 import dlineman
yeah Guillery has done nothing is right .....

I'd like to see them go with an all import lineacking corp

Mcfadden Adams Kirk Hickman

Knowlton Haley Floyd

what do you think ?

I am nto sure they will drop Guillery ..

I just hope they don't cut Haley , Hickman or Mcfadden essentially the 3 best defenders in camp outside of Thompson and Floyd

I guess we will find out pretty soon

Are these anticipated cuts based on your observations at the game, from the radio broadcast, or the Cogeco coverage? I watched the cable coverage this morning and other than Mike Morreale's excellent commentary, I certainly didn't get a lot of insight other than Edwards insulting paying customers regarding their weight and Crocker's voice cracking my eardrums.
While at the game, I had the binoculars on Rottier, Goodspeed, Dyakowski, and later Carlson. Not only does the OLine look better this year but they seem to be moving with more of a purpose. Perhaps it is better coaching and/or better talent.
As far as the cuts are concerned, some players got little playing time which could mean they already have the job or the rookies competing for the same position were given enough rope to hang themselves or steal the spot from the vets. If the coaching staff is having a tough time making the final cuts, that is a good thing. Usually I can list the players who won't make the team fairly accurately but this year I don't know. I think we still need help on the DLine but Otis looks like he has" lifted "the linebackers in the middle and Ball has great hands in the slot.
Good luck to the coaching Staff and Obie in making the final roster and thanks to all the players who have given their all to make our Cats better.

Pat Lynch(the old guy in section 7)

anybody else focus on Toeaina when he was blocking Jonathon Brown? Brown was getting schooled. he couldnt do anything.

My assessment is based on me watching 5 full practices, watching the black and gold game , seeing the winnipeg game online and listening to the argo game and of course staying on top of this site and all the media and other people's thoughts.

I also go by the players background , nfl experience , size, cfl experience , college career ...and the teams needs and the the competition

Lil hard to move a 340 pound OL lol :stuck_out_tongue:

haha yea, not to mention a 340 pound OL with good footwork.

Usually you don’t have to. You just run around him. That’s why the footwork is so important as jordan02 mentioned.

Well said Pat Lynch I still think Tre Smith makes this team better than Cobb.

I don 't see us cutting either, frankly both are great backs and nearly of the same cailber.

These guys will most definatly not be cut. Pavlovic is basicly the only fullback we have on the roster and Lawrence Gordon, despite the rage directed towards him on the site, is a good player. Better than most of the others at his position. Boltus will go to the PR and Doneff is a canadian, ergo a PR receiver to be used in emergencies or if Bauman continues his unimpressive play.

Jeff

if Keith isn't ready to go by next wednesday we might just have to keep Smith and Cobb to back up Caulley until Keith comes back.

and im with syphon, i keep gordon. i dont think he is good enough to start, but after smith and bradley, he is the next best corner we have, Lawrence Gordon would a solid backup

This article by David Naylor on the Globe and Mail website focuses on the players' experience of being released on CFL cutdown days:

Welcome to the players who have earned a place on the 2009 Ticats roster and thanks to those who gave it their all but have been or will be released.

On the Hash Marks feature on the tsn.ca website, they have posted a few of the players released by other CFL teams today. None of the released players listed there are "CFL household names" but it also looks as though running back Joe Smith is about to be released by the Bombers.

Matt Morencie, after being rated the #2 OL in the draft fell to round 3, was released by the lions
