Can anyone imagine the uproar if MLB forced Pedro Martinez to go in as an Expo? After all, he got his start there, and they developed him.

This question seems to me like asking someone on his or her deathbed which one of their spouses or children they liked best. Only one former spouse or child will be happy.
I think the easiest road is the one followed by the NFL and NHL⌠no team affilliation.
That is reasonable but the plaque used to honour the players is a bias relief of them wearing a team cap. Other than naming the years a player played for his team, the team name is not given
I agree although in reading up on it it appears that may be not quite true for the NFL although it is the stated rule.
I also came across the fact that the NFL directs voters to focus on playing accomplishments only while MLB takes into account alleged off field behaviour. Thus we have the glaring anomalies of OJ being in the HOF while Pete Rose, Roger Clemens, Sammy Sosa and Barry Bonds are not although serial bad boy Wade Boggs is in. The more I look at it the more of a mess it all appears to me.

There are over 40 people banned from baseball, all ineligible for the Hall of Fame. How many are worthy I could not tell you
Most notable George Steinbrenner who was banned for day to day management of the yankees but not ownership He is still eligible for the HOF
Roberto Alomar who entered the HOF in 2011 was deemed ineligible in 2021 for sexual assaults allegations that occurred in 2014. His plaque remains in the HOF
The suit was later dropped while he continues to be punished

Alomar should have been banned for his spitting behaviour alone, much less the sexual assault allegations. He was a scumbag from the get go and one of my least favourite athletes ever in any sport. Completely undeserving of his induction and I hope they strip him of it.
