And So It Begins! Riders vs Alouettes Part II Cup Thread!

let it begin!

How will this turn out?

It's too early for me to truly say anything. still sinking in!

This is going to be one hell of a game next week. Im curious what slogan the rider fans are going to go with this time it's going to be hard for them to get something more ironic than last year's :stuck_out_tongue:

how about "Kill the bird"

Montreal will be 2-6.

So a last second unnecessary roughness penalty?

the Als will have two few men! haha

and the riders will have too many so it evens out

Welcome abroad Chief, I thought we had you earlier! The USS RoughRider (NCC 2010) is about to set sail on it’s maiden voyage to Edmonton. 100 years of pride, Go Riders!

if they do it again, the Fans will kill them.

I would've preferred it to be BC and Toronto, but what are you gonna do. Out of the two teams in the Grey Cup, I'd rather see Sask win. Montreal basically gets a free pass each year.

I can see the theme that TV and newspapers will be doing all week..

Rider Redemption...

No matter who you're cheering for, no matter who wins in the end, I think we can all agree that this rematch is a game we can ALL look forward to. Montreal and Saskatchewan's first Grey Cup meeting was one of the most exciting games I've ever witnessed, and a rematch has the potential to be even better!

Terminator, Back to the Future and Lord of the Rings proved that sequels can make an already great series even better. Let's hope the same can be said for the MTL/SASK Grey Cup Part II!

“Huddle up at the case of beer”?

Let’s hope in part II that good (Riders) triumphs over evil (well semi-evil the Als, Edm is evil). :rockin:

It would certainly be a fitting way to end the Riders 100th anniversary with a Grey Cup win. Montreal will be a stiff test. The one slight advantage the Riders might have is that they've been playing in this garbage called weather for 2 weeks now.

But Montreal has much fresher legs. Should be a great game.

that’s what they said about Today…

and well, so it means nothing.

Incorrect. It could mean something, or it could mean nothing. Saskatchewan’s win today proved that being well-rested coming off the playoff bye doesn’t guarantee you a win. But most of the time, it’s a factor that works in your favor.

I seriously doubt the bye gives you much of an advantage. I believe before last season the Colts were 0-3 with the bye. I also recall the Chargers getting upset by the Patriots a few years ago when they had the bye.

Wrong league Chiefy  I know the past 2 seasons the top seeds have advanced after the bye week, but I also know that there was a stretch where the home team had struggled. Calgary and Montreal in '08 were the top seeds, as were Montreal and Saskatchewan last year.
