AMSOIL Power Rankings: Wins to build on?

TORONTO — Wins and losses are often disposable items for coaches and players, but there’s a chance that Week 11  provided each of its winners with the kind of game that can help shape a season.

You really can’t fault these rankings. If one wanted to nit pick, Sask could be in the #2 spot. Their loss was a fluke but flukes happen.

But they also should’ve lost against Ottawa last week in OT on that 3rd down interference call. Ottawa beat the Stamps, Riders lose, Ottawa a better team, better record, no nitpicking

I agree with the rankings,
The ranking can easily be extremely different after each week right now.
The 8 and 9 spots are quite interesting as both teams deserve the spots they are in but from 8 to 9 there is a HUGE drop in how good the teams actually are. Calgary being far far better than the Cats

I have no idea how a team goes winless in four but only drops one spot and still sits at #3 overall.

I honestly can’t believe that my Cats are ranked as high as they are . :poop: :smile_cat:

Rider fans running rampant in the press. What else could it be?
Oh yea still in first place in the west.

 :joy:

In first place strictly by default .

It’s because these AMSOIL bojacks just soil themselves every week with these stupid power rankings.

Just get on with the games and play, then you are your record, then either you make the playoffs or not you AMSOIL bums!

That defeats the point of power rankings. If you’re just going to go by overall record, use the standings.

I totally agree.

Poor long-suffering Calgary quarterbacks finally got a target who can get some separation by the name of Ishmael Hyman. He can burn DB’s to a crisp without breaking the budget every time he’s sent deep and that’s gotta be giving Hufnagel goose bumps about Dickenson’s recent cheapness coup.

I would imagine that Maier’s feeling peachy keen as well.

“WHAT THE F***… A WIDE OPEN RECEIVER? AM I DREAMING?! SOMEBODY PINCH ME!!!” Is probably what Jake Maier’s down trodden inner voice said.

One more Cap friendly deep threat like Hyman on Calgary’s starting roster and Maier’s rock-bottom self-esteem could be in danger of rocketing to Zach Collaros levels.

So for his latest outstanding achievement in the field of dollar stretching, I’m awarding coach/GM Dave Dickenson five frugal thumbs up and a coupon for ten cents off on his next purchase at Value Village. Congratulations Dave!!!

Yea and by default the other teams are below than the riders in most all the stats used to draw up whompls es where in the standings.
The point is the riders hit some good stats on how good the team is do t you think… Lost the last game 99.9999 percent due to shite 3 point attempts…

Other than that the team was Sollid thdt had some to do with it too.
Fan bases would score things much differently with the top 4 teams and each fan base would present very legit reasons why they are placing their team higher than other fan bases did.
The point is even THIS ranking is subjective and meant for creating fan discussions

I’m having a hard time understanding what you’re saying here.

But … a four-game winless streak. Power rankings aren’t just about what you did last game. I’m not saying Ssk should be at the bottom but #3 overall is absurd.

That’s obvious. But again, if you’re going to cite a team’s standings as proof of why they should be rated high, you may as well just use … the team standings. And forgo the power rankings altogether. Power rankings are meant to offer an assessment of a team that is not necessarily predicated on wins and losses.

What I am saying is
Other teams fans will cite just as much to prove why their team is done wrong by the power rankings
I also said every ranking is subjective
Look how the USA Colledge football champion used to picked

Can’t see how the riders are 3 , they have one win in past 6 games , and got hammered by the 0-7 Esks , riders seem to be in a free fall

It’s not hard to blame that AMSOIL for such soiling of themselves and this weekly charade.
